As Marlon begs the police for help in Emmerdale, Celia and Ray's operation is about to face more threats

Moira is not happy

Marlon has (finally) asked the police for help against Ray and Celia in Emmerdale tonight – but things unfortunately didn’t work out well for him.

It’s been an endless cycle of Ray and Celia getting away with their crimes by merely threatening to harm more people if the truth got out there. But like people have pointed out – they can’t kill everyone in the village.

Tonight, we had hope (again) that there could be a turning point as Dylan woke up and spoke to the police. But yet again Ray and Celia walked away unscathed in Emmerdale – for now.

Marlon turned to the police in Emmerdale tonight

Dylan woke up and was determined to tell the police everything. But April warned him that it wasn’t a good idea as Ray was not only right out, but had upped his threats by a lot.

Unfortunately, everyone was counting on him actually telling the police what he knew. And so, when DS Carter arrived, Marlon hoped it would be the end of it all. However, Dylan listened to April’s plea and decided against telling the police anything. Instead, he claimed he couldn’t remember a thing!

When DS Carter told Marlon there was nothing else they could do, Marlon finally opened up on what was going on. She confirmed that Ray and Celia are in their sights, but that they don’t have enough evidence to charge them at the minute. And if they brought them in, they would be out within 24 hours and things would definitely get worse then.

Marlon begged her to help his family, telling her that they are being extorted by Ray. But DS Carter pleaded with him to be patient.

So, with Marlon feeling like he is truly alone, Ray and Celia get the upper-hand in Emmerdale once again. But that could all change when Moira finds out Celia isn’t who she thought she was.

Moira is about to be very angry at Celia

Over the last few months, Celia has been working to take Moira down as her cover to all the crimes she has been committing. From illegal business deals to literally burying a body on her land.

And for a while, Moira was just going along with everything Celia proposed. She truly believed she was a friend and a solid business partner. But all of that is about to disappear as the truth comes out.

In Emmerdale spoilers for this week, Moira gets curious about a business deal she made with Celia. And when she looks into it deeper, she realises Celia has been forging her signature on invoices for huge amounts of turkeys.

Absolutely furious, Moira confronts Celia in the Woolpack. Celia tries to cover and manages to make herself look the victim after Moira gives her a well deserved slap.

Later, Moira is worried about her future. But one thing is for sure – she is determined to bring down Celia’s shady operation. Finally!

Gogglebox fans issue plea to bosses as they brand last night's episode the 'Sophie and Pete Show'

Gogglebox fans took to social media to issue a plea to bosses as they hit out at Sophie and Pete Sandiford during last night's show (Friday, May 22).

Some fans even went so far as to say that it's time the duo called it quits on the hit Channel 4 show.

What happened on Gogglebox last night?

Last night saw fans sit down to yet another new episode of Gogglebox on Channel 4.

During the episode, the show's stars caught up on some of the week's biggest shows.

First up was the Eurovision Song Contest, which aired last weekend. The stars watched as Bulgaria won the competition, and the UK came last with just one point.

They then watched Jamie Oliver's Ultimate BBQ, before tuning in to Widow's Bay on AppleTV. They then tuned in to a bit of Dogs Behaving Badly, Police Interceptors, and the news.

The show finished with them catching the Race Across the World finale and an episode of Trading Places on Channel 5.

Gogglebox viewers issue plea

However, it wasn't the programmes on last night's show that got viewers complaining - it was the Pete and Sophie.

Viewers took umbrage with how many times the duo featured on the show last night, with some even pleading with bosses on Twitter for them to be shown less in the next series.

"Am I the only one that’s sick to death of Sophie and Pete show. She laughs for no reason, and most of the show is of them. Plenty of other cast to show. Start using others in September for god sake!" one viewer fumed.

"They seem to be on a lot tonight," another agreed.

"It’s every week. Drives me mad when others hardly get any air time. Thankfully done until September now," another wrote.

Pete and Sophie slammed

Another viewer was of the opinion that the duo's time on the show should be over.

"I agree, I think their time is up. They seem to think they are funny, but they are not," they wrote.

"I have gone on about that pair for ages, they always get loads of airtime. They feature on or after the ad breaks plus at the very end," a fifth added.

"The Pete and Sophie show is really wearing now -I've had enough of them.....," another said.

Pete and Sophie have been on the show for close to a decade now, joining back in 2017. They've since cemented themselves as fan favourites.
