Meet the Owens will follow the former England striker, his wife Louise and their children Gemma, James, Emily and Jessica.
The Prime Video series charts a year in the family’s life as they balance their huge horse racing operation with changes at home.
Michael and Louise are also facing the prospect of their children flying the nest and pursuing very different futures.

What is reality show Meet the Owens about?
Michael moved into racehorse ownership after retiring from football. His efforts to keep the stables competitive at major events will form one of the programme’s central storylines, with Prime Video saying the business is becoming harder to sustain each year.
The family owns 140 horses but Louise – who will talk about meeting Michael at primary school in the show – warns: “That business has to stand on its own two feet.”
Meanwhile, the couple’s four children are each working towards ambitions of their own.
Youngest daughter Jessica hopes to compete in showjumping at Olympic level, while 18-year-old Emily wants to become the first member of the Owen family to attend university.
James, 20, has a degenerative eye condition and he is hoping to find a place within the family business.
Gemma, meanwhile, is training at her father’s stables as she works towards racing at Glorious Goodwood.
Love Island fans will definitely recognise Gemma. The stunning brunette, 23, entered the villa in the 2022 series of the ITV2 show and finished as a runner-up.
Since then, her career as a presenter has blossomed and she has a large following on social media.
Needless to say, however, that Gemma’s romance with her Love Island boyfriend Luca Bish is ancient history!
When is Meet the Owens released? How many episodes?
Meet the Owens consists of six episodes. All will be available to watch on Prime Video from August 28, 2026.
A synopsis reads: “Meet the Owens follows a year in the life of former England striker Michael Owen, his wife Louise, and their four children Gemma, James, Emily, and Jessica, as they juggle a horse racing business while contending with a chaotic home life.”
