Richard Osman 'beyond thrilled' as Michael Sheen announced as House of Games replacement
He revealed his departure earlier this monthRichard Osman has spoken out after it was announced that Hollywood actor Michael Sheen will be replacing him as host on House of Games.
Earlier this month, Richard revealed he would be waving goodbye to the BBC quiz show on his podcast, This Is Entertainment.
“It has been such a great pleasure, and honour, to present House of Games for the last nine years, with the absolute best team in television. But it’s time to let someone else have a go, and I’m very excited to hand over the House keys to the lucky new host!” he shared in a statement.
As fans waited for his replacement, it was confirmed today (March 16) that Michael will be taking his place.

In an Instagram post shared on Monday, Richard posted a photo of Michael and issued a statement.
“Beyond thrilled to be handing the #HouseOfGames keys over to the one and only Michael Sheen,” he wrote.
“I promise to put the hoover round before he arrives. Best of luck Michael, you’re such a great choice, and I know you, and the viewers, will have an amazing time!”

‘You will be missed’
As a result, many expressed that they would miss Richard as a host.
“You will be missed Richard,” one user wrote.
“Exciting times! Will still miss Richard, though,” another person shared.
“This makes saying goodbye to you a bit more bareable,” a third remarked.
‘Shut the front door!’
Meanwhile, many believe Michael is a worthy replacement.
“Michael Sheen is the best in the biz at playing culturally important Brits, so I hope he wears glasses and stilts, and does the show fully as you,” one person joked.

“Stop it! This is unbelievable!” a third said.
