Strictly Come Dancing viewers hit out at Josh Widdicombe for 'cutting off' Emma Willis
Josh and Emma were hosting downstairs on Strictly last nightStrictly Come Dancing host Josh Widdicombe has come under fire for his behaviour towards Emma Willis on Saturday night.
The BBC show returned for its third week on October 10 as the 2026 celebrities returned to the ballroom in a bid to impress the judges and viewers at home.
Since the series began in September, there has been a very mixed reaction to the new hosting trio Josh, Emma and Johannes Radebe. Many viewers have questioned whether the dynamic is working following the exits of Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly last year.
On Saturday night’s show, Josh sparked some criticism early on following Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola’s performance.

After Lacey and Vito performed their Samba, the judges offered their feedback.
Once Shirley Ballas had wrapped up her feedback, Emma told Lacey: “You’ve really been focusing on your spins this week haven’t you? It’s paid off.”
Lacey replied: “I hope so.”
Emma then said: “You’re always so like, ‘Oh, I don’t know.'”
Lacey admitted: “It’s all a blur isn’t it.”
Emma offered her support further, saying: “Yeah but it’s done now…”
However, Josh then cut in and spoke over Emma. He said: “That’s really good. Get up them stairs. Get away from them.”
Some viewers picked up on the moment and shared their thoughts on X. One person said: “Josh telling them to go upstairs before Emma was finished speaking to them… oh lord.”
Another wrote: “He ain’t gonna be back next series ain’t he.” [Sic]
Someone else commented: “Emma is so over Josh isn’t she.”
However, another person had a different view on the situation. They wrote: “Emma just talked all over Josh when he said to Vito and Lacey to go upstairs. Felt awkward.”

Elsewhere, viewers seemed to be loving Emma, Johannes and Josh’s dynamic more this week following weeks of criticism.
One person gushed: “Right, I’m gonna say it. I’m enjoying the new hosts. Johannes is great and Josh and Emma are fun.”
Another said that Johannes, Emma and Josh “all look like they’ve settled in now”.
Meanwhile, a third added: “I know it’s probably just me. But Josh and Johannes have really come into their own the last 2 weeks. I love the way Josh and Emma stand up for the contestants too.”
