The Chase player supported by viewers after losing whopping £73k prize against The Beast
'What a shame'The Chase returned to our screens yesterday (March 17) for another episode, and viewers were left sympathising with a player after she played against The Beast.
For Tuesday’s episode, host Bradley Walsh welcomed contestants Janine from Manchester, Daniel from Sleaford, Juliette from Dunoon and Amar from London, who all took on Mark Labbett, also known as The Beast.
The Chase last night
Janine was first up to the podium, answering three questions correctly in her cash builder round. She chose to play for £3,000, but was ultimately caught by The Beast and eliminated from the game.
Next to face the Chaser was Daniel, who impressed early on by banking £6,000. Although tempted by the higher offer of £66,000, he decided to stick with his original total. Unfortunately, he met the same fate as Janine and was also caught.
After two early exits, Juliette decided to take a gamble. Having secured £3,000 in her cash builder, she opted for the high offer of £73,000.
Final contestant Amar managed just two correct answers in his round. At Juliette’s urging, he accepted the lower offer of minus £9,000 in the hope of boosting their chances in the Final Chase. However, he too was caught, leaving Juliette as the sole player through to the final.
In the Final Chase, Juliette answered 10 questions correctly, setting a strong target. But with 1 minute and 14 seconds remaining, The Beast caught her, ending her run.
Despite her impressive performance, Juliette left empty-handed — and viewers were quick to sympathise, especially with such a large prize at stake.

‘Hard luck’
“What a shame, I think partially it was simply the pressure of being there alone,” one user wrote on X.
“Well done, Juliette, you got there and gave it a go,” another person shared.
“[Bleep] me her questions were hard!!” a third insisted.
“Unlucky Juliette, but congrats on being the only player to make it to the final to play for £73k,” a fourth said.
“Hard luck Juliette, you can be proud of yourself though,” a fifth expressed.
