'Got me good': Sort Your Life Out viewers in tears as Stacey Solomon helps mum and daughter, 10, after dad's death
It was a very emotional watchSort Your Life Out fans have been left in tears after watching Stacey Solomon and the team help a grieving mum and her daughter.
Stacey and the gang stepped in last night to support Almarie following the sudden death of her husband Marcus.
The family’s life changed overnight when Marcus was diagnosed with bile cancer.
He was given a five-year life expectancy but, less than two months later, he was dead.
Almarie’s home had ended up in disarray after she turned all her attention to her 10-year-old daughter Maria.
And viewers were left reaching for the tissues as they watched Stacey and the SYLO team step in to help.
Sort Your Life Out fans in tears over latest episode
Stacey and the SYLO team travelled to South London on Tuesday night to meet Almarie and Maria, who was born with a chromosomal condition. Before 2021, life was “perfect” and the couple even began fostering children.
But then everything changed when Marcus fell ill.

“It came to light he had a diagnosis of bile cancer and that had spread to the liver,” Almarie explained in the show. “They had said survival was five years but he passed away within two months.
“It was very surreal because one minute life was perfect, then the next day the whole dream just shattered.”
Almarie’s two childhood friends stepped in to help her, sleeping on the sofa on a rota basis. But the house took a backseat and clutter began to build.
As Almarie and Maria’s story unfolded, fans found themselves overcome with emotion.
Tears for Marcus
Stacey and the SYLO out team sought the assistance of bereavement specialists for the latest episode.
They deliberately put all of Marcus’ belongings in one place in the warehouse. This was to avoid giving Almarie a shock by suddenly seeing something of his without expecting it.
Stacey told her: “We are not erasing Marcus. We want to bring him back to the house with us, but we want to bring the most important things.”
Almarie decided to keep a pair of Marcus’ flip flops for her to wear in the garden. But the emotion soon became too much.
“It’s very surreal. I still feel like I’m in a dream,” she told Stacey. “It hits me when I go to bed at night because I’m behind closed doors and no one sees me.”
Almarie then said: “I didn’t tell Maria her dad had passed away until four days later because I was digesting how I was going to explain it to her.
“My friend bought me this book called Daddy’s Rainbow.
“I made sure she ate her lunch first. At the end of the book, I said that Daddy was a rainbow. She was like, ‘What?’ and then 10 seconds later, she fell into my lap. It was the worst thing.”
Back in the warehouse, Almarie explained to Stacey how her own mum died four months before Marcus did. She then sobbed in Stacey’s arms, questioning how she has coped.
“You have been coping,” Stacey comforted her. “Look at your amazing daughter. You’ve done an amazing job.”
Sort Your Life Out works its magic
Back at the house, the SYLO experts totally transformed it. Maria was given an incredible art room in the garden, covered in her artwork. Her daddy’s belongings are placed into a large wicker basket that is easily accessible.
Upstairs, the team gave Maria’s bedroom a makeover with her very own stage. She was also presented with a walkie talkie to chat to her mum if she ever feels worried or sad in bed.
The mum and daughter were absolutely thrilled.
Stacey concluded: “There’s no better feeling than knowing the people you have spent the week with are going to wake up tomorrow and be lighter.”

Once the show had aired, fans flocked online to share their thoughts.
One admitted on the official Sort Your Life Out Instagram account: “Made me cry. So glad you helped them.”
Another added: “Wonderful tonight. I cried and I smiled, sending so much love xx.” A third penned: “I cried but I love Stacey and her team and her besties for reaching out.”
And someone else admitted: “This one got me good. What an amazing woman and those gorgeous friends. They did so amazing, honestly hats off to them. Couldn’t love this programme anymore.”
