Though to be honest, anyone will get a chill down their spine while watching it.
The documentary tells the story of one of Britain’s most high-profile missing persons cases, that of Leah Croucher.
Leah was 19 years old when she vanished, turning her parents’ lives upside down.
For three years, John and Claire Croucher suffered unimaginable heartache as they painstakingly searched for their daughter.
Then one day, their nightmares were confirmed. Leah was found dead in the loft of a total stranger’s house.

The Search for Leah Croucher: A Parent’s Nightmare tells the horrific story of Leah’s disappearance through John and Claire’s eyes.
For the first time, the couple will recount the unimaginable horror of the moment they realised their daughter was missing. It was February 15, 2019 and Leah had been walking to work. But she didn’t turn up.
In the documentary, John and Claire will then recall how the days turned into months and the months turned into years. Yet still no sign of their beloved daughter.
Leah’s disappearance captured the nation and there seemed to be little clues as to what had happened to her.
But tragically, in October 2022, their worst fears were confirmed. Leah’s remains were found in the loft of a house less than half a mile from her own home.
An inquest later concluded that Leah had been “unlawfully killed” by sex offender Neil Maxwell.
Maxwell had worked as a handyman in the property, but no justice could be served. He had died in April 2019, two months after Leah was reported missing.
John and Claire, along with Leah’s sister Jade, will explain the profound impact her disappearance and death had on the family in The Search for Leah Croucher: A Parent’s Nightmare.
This includes the loss of Leah’s half brother Haydon. Unable to cope with his sister’s disappearance, Haydon took his own life nine months after she had vanished. He was just 24 years old.
‘Leah’s disappearance moved the nation’
Tom Osborne, the coroner at Leah’s inquest, said ‘failures regarding the monitoring of Maxwell by the probation service and police may have played a part’ in her death.
The family are now fighting to change British law to ensure what they endured cannot be repeated.

The documentary is split over two episodes, each lasting 75 minutes. The release date is yet to be confirmed, however it will land this side of Christmas.
