This Morning host Alison Hammond has been pictured in a hospital bed after clutching her chest and running off set during a live broadcast of the daytime show.

Alison, 51, suddenly got to her feet and appeared to be gasping for breath as she darted off camera earlier today (Friday October 2, 2026).

The presenter could then be heard making a worrying yelping sound as co-host Dermot O’Leary accompanied her.

Alison was then removed from the rest of the programme.

The star has now broken her silence after being met with widespread concern from her worried fans.

Lying in a hospital bed while wearing a gown, Alison said: “Hello, my lovelies. I know you’re all worried about me.

“Honestly, I am fine first of all. But I’m getting my old ticker checked out. I had a little bit of a palpitation and now I’m getting it all checked out.

“But I think I’m okay. I’m hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that.”

Alison added: “I love you all. Thank you for all your lovely messages. I’m so sorry I left you I would never normally do that.

“I would never leave a TV show, so you know I wasn’t very well.

“But hopefully I’m going to be alright. The doctors are so lovely. They’re checking me out and hopefully everything is going to be fine.”

Alison then blew a kiss to the camera to sign off and mused: “Everything is fine, look! I’m rocking it. Look how good I look – I’ve still got my make-up on from This Morning. Lush! Love ya, babs.”

Alison Hammond pulled from This Morning after falling ill

Alison’s medical emergency happened suddenly during Friday morning’s broadcast of This Morning. She made her very quick exit during a pet phone-in with TV vet Dr Scott.

Dr Scott was left sat on the sofa by himself as Dermot helped Alison away. He looked startled as he tried to work out what was happening.

This Morning then cut to an advert break. Once back on screen, Dermot addressed what had happened.

“Welcome back to This Morning, Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she’s just had to duck out,” he said. “Hopefully she’ll be back.”

However, Alison did not reappear before the programme ended. Dermot later gave a firmer update as he continued with the ITV daytime show alone.

He said: “Ali’s feeling a little unwell, so I’ll be here for the rest of the show.”

Dermot then carried on without a replacement beside him. He handled the remaining segments by himself, including appearances from singer Tulisa and N-Dubz.

ITV has since uploaded the episode to its streaming platform ITVX, however Alison’s sudden exit has been edited out.

This Morning viewers share concern for Alison

Fans were left concerned by Alison’s sudden dash from This Morning.

Writing on X, one viewer wrote: “What on earth has happened with Alison? Hope she’s okay.”

Another said: “We love you Queen, hope you’re ok.”

And third penned: “What happened to Alison Hammond during this morning. She seemed to be rushed off air struggling to breathe?”

Alison usually hosts the Friday edition of This Morning alongside Dermot.
