Summer finally realises the truth

In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Friday, April 10), Carl Webster planted a huge seed into Summer Spellman’s head about Theo.

Summer quizzed him on Billy Mayhew’s death and believed that his drunk driving was responsible for it.

However, Carl then told her to ‘look closer to home.’ And, spoilers confirm that she does just that.

Carl pointed Summer in the right direction in Coronation Street

This week, Summer tried to get the truth about Billy’s death out of Debbie. She believed that Carl was responsible for the crash and that Debbie was covering for him (and she was correct).

With Debbie failing to tell Summer the truth, Summer confronted Carl himself tonight and tried to get some answers.

Instead of admitting to driving the car during the Corriedale crash, Carl instead told Summer to ‘look closer to home.’

Of course, viewers will know that Carl overheard Theo confessing to leaving Billy to die while ‘alone’ with his coffin the other month.

He’s been keeping his secret to himself, storing it away until needed. And, it appears that he’s decided that the time for the truth to come out is now.

Coronation Street spoilers see Summer expose Theo

Coronation Street spoilers for next week see Summer work out the truth and share her concerns about Theo with Todd.

Summer’s suspicions take a darker twist when she confronts Theo about Billy’s final moments – only to be blindsided by unexpected news that he and Todd are planning a move to Belfast. The revelation leaves her shaken, and later, over drinks with Todd, she doesn’t hold back, making a chilling accusation that stops him in his tracks – she believes Theo was responsible for Billy’s death. The question is, how will Todd react?

As concerns grow, Sarah updates George, and together with Summer they rush to reach Todd. But Theo intercepts them, spinning a lie at the door and insisting they’ve already left. Inside, Todd plays along, even managing to convince Sarah that Theo is telling the truth.

However, when Theo briefly steps away, Todd makes a desperate bid for freedom while finishing his packing. Will he escape before it’s too late? And when Sarah later hears the buzzer at home, who could be waiting outside?
