Maggie Driscoll Share By Tamzin Meyer Oct 27 2025 By Tamzin Meyer Oct 27 2025 Maggie Driscoll made her mark in Coronation Street tonight (Monday, October 27) as she announced that she was the new pub landlady. Eva had been looking forward to running the Rovers after Ben announced he’d bought the pub. But, a major hiccup then saw Maggie arrive and put Eva in her place. And, the drama is set to follow Maggie wherever she goes. Maggie wasted no time in getting behind the bar (Credit: ITV) Maggie’s arrival changed Eva’s plans in Coronation Street Eva was thrilled when her husband Ben surprised her tonight, revealing that he’d bought the pub off Carla. Seeing the Rovers as the upgrade from the Flying Horse, Eva started moving her things into the pub and made sure the punters had free flowing booze at hand. Article Continues Below Read all the latest Spoilers There was a slight issue though. Glenda revealed that Ben hadn’t actually paid for the pub yet meaning that they didn’t own it after all. Ben told a furious Eva that he hadn’t actually had chance to find the money, getting carried away in the whirlwind of it all. Upset, Eva believed that her dreams of running the pub were over and started thinking about heading back to Hull. Ben then managed to salvage the situation though by revealing that he’d just secured the sale and had sourced the money to buy the pub. Staging a lock in, Eva was chuffed that the pub was ‘really hers.’ But, then Ben’s mum Maggie arrived and revealed that she was in fact the new Rovers landlady as Ben had used her money to buy the pub. Maggie made her mark (Credit: ITV) Coronation Street spoilers reveal what’s next for ‘mother-in-law for hell’ Maggie Driscoll Catherine Tyldesley recent revealed that Maggie is the ‘mother-in-law from hell’ for Eva. Speaking to the Mirror, she said: “There are so many twists and turns with the Driscolls. The mother-in-law from hell feels like a harsh title but I don’t think I am far off. “The constant swipes at each other, and Ben is very much stuck in the middle. Things do start to come to a head and he has to make that decision of whose side are you on here. They both get frustrated with him.” And, in Coronation Street spoilers for the rest of the week, Maggie takes charge by telling the Rovers staff that while Eva might be landlady, she’s the one who is ultimately in charge… This leaves the staff a tad confused. Later on, Maggie starts to become suspicious of Eva when she sees her interact with ex Adam Barlow. She soon wonders how many skeletons Eva has in her closet. But, should Eva be worried about Maggie’s interference? What else happened in Coronation Street tonight? Hope accused Jake Hope headed to the salon to get her hair dyed black for her Halloween Addams family look. Both Ruby and Jake were also in the salon when Hope received another nasty message on her phone. Seeing Jake chuckle to himself while looking at his own phone, Hope started shouting at him and accused him of trolling her. She then stormed off upset, then opening up to Cassie and Fiz about the messages she'd been getting. Nick proposed Nick got down on one knee and proposed to Toyah tonight just as Leanne walked in to interrupt the occasion. Toyah was livid, bursting into the pub and causing a scene as she started having a go at Leanne. Eva couldn't stand to see the sisters shouting and decided to lock them in the pub until they made up. It turns out, with all three women having dated Nick at some point, they had a lot to agree on. With Toyah and Leanne now putting their bad blood to one side, Toyah spoke to Nick and told him that she couldn't marry him. She loved him but wanted to focus on reconnecting with Eva and Leanne instead of planning a wedding. Maria wasn't happy Maria saw Eva on the cobbles and was FUMING. She then went to visit Tyrone and Fiz to talk their ears off about how much she couldn't stand Eva. They didn't quite understand why it was a big deal really. But, Ty did bring up their iconic water fountain catfight. Who could forget that one? Theo brushed it off Todd wanted to discuss the elephant in the room - Theo pouring milk all over him. Theo told Todd that it was a funny moment and he didn't mean for him to take it so seriously. What was a serious matter to him though was seeing a 'for sale' sign up on Todd's new car...
