Will Maggie the murderer strike again?

Maggie Driscoll killed her husband in Coronation Street as her big secret was revealed to viewers tonight (Monday, December 8).

In flashback scenes, a younger Maggie was shown to be responsible for her husband Alan’s death.

But, will murderous Maggie strike again and bump off a current Weatherfield resident?

Maggie’s murder secret in Coronation Street

Maggie Driscoll hit her 65th birthday like a one-woman parade, making sure the entire cobbles knew it was HER day.

With Ollie whipping up a cake and a massive banner draped across the Rovers, Maggie basked in every second of the spotlight. Then she dropped her biggest party stunt yet – inviting Eva’s arch-nemesis Maria. Eva tried (and failed) to bar her, while Ben whispered that she only had to survive a few more hours of Maggie Mania. Easier said than done, especially with Maggie gleefully fishing for gossip about Eva and Adam’s past.

But the real drama kicked in when Maggie’s mind slipped back decades to another birthday – the same night Ben’s dad, Alan, died. Flashbacks showed a younger, sharper-tongued Maggie, a fraught marriage, and arguments that had long crossed into dangerous territory. One final blazing row on the stairs ended with Maggie shoving Alan, sending him tumbling to his death.

Maggie’s spent a lifetime burying that night… but we get the sense that her darkest secret might not stay buried for long.

4 Coronation Street characters Maggie could kill next

With Maggie Driscoll having murderous bones, Weatherfield residents would do well to stay on her right side. But, if Maggie was going to kill again… here’s who could be at the top of her hit list.

1. Eva

While Maggie has many secrets, her dislike of Eva isn’t one of them. She’s made it very clear where her feelings towards her son’s Mrs stand.

Maggie thinks that Ben can do much better than Eva, and is desperate to prove it by airing Eva’s dirty laundry. She just needs to do some digging to get her hands on the evidence first.

With Maggie asking constant questions about Eva and Maria’s feud, as well as Eva and Adam’s past, could she soon get rid of Eva the only way she knows how? Murder?

2. Adam

If Maggie can’t get rid of Eva, perhaps finishing off Eva’s ex Adam could help her ensure that Ben’s heart is protected.

Maggie hinted that someone will grow jealous of Adam and Alya’s relationship tonight (she likes to think of herself as a someone who can predict the future), with the camera cleverly switching over to Eva. But, is this foreshadowing that things could get very messy where Adam is concerned? Does Maggie have her eye on him?

3. Megan

Megan Walsh is secretly grooming and dating Maggie’s teenage grandson Will Driscoll.

With Maggie desperate to protect the family (she probably has Taylor Swift’s Father Figure on repeat), when it inevitably all comes out about Megan and Will’s illegal relationship, Megan will be getting more than a stern talking to.

We can imagine Maggie being desperate to teach the gym coach a thing or two. But, what will her punishment be?

4. Lauren

Maggie walked in on Will attempting to kiss Lauren Bolton tonight, and she got the completely wrong end of the stick and thought that Lauren had been the one to make the move.

Lauren tried to explain things but Maggie wasn’t ready to listen. Poor Lauren had only been trying to help sober the teen up in the first place. But, will Maggie make Lauren pay the price for Will’s actions?

What else happened in Coronation Street tonight?

Will tried to kiss Lauren

Lauren Bolton spotted drunk teen Will standing in the dark outside and offered him a hand in sobering up.

In the back room of the pub, Will then went in for a kiss but Maggie caught the interaction and thought that Lauren had been the one to initiate it.

Lauren later tried to explain things to Maggie, but she had a hard time believing her.

Ken played a trick on Tracy

Ben Driscoll joked with Ken that he'd be interested in buying his house so that he could knock the wall through and put a pool table in there.

Rita and Ken then tricked Tracy, pretending that Ken had sold the house and was planning to spend her inheritance on his travels abroad.

Tracy was fuming but then realised that it was all a joke.

Bethany gave Maggie the goss

At the salon, Maggie enjoyed having a pamper for the birthday before quizzing Maria and Bethany on the reason for Eva's feud.

Once Maria had left the room, Bethany than explained that Maria had stolen Aidan away from Eva when they were together.
