Coronation Street has seen a new face welcomed into Weatherfield this year as well as a sad goodbye to lots of others.

It’s been a very chaotic year on the cobbles to say the least! Here’s everyone who entered the soap world and left it in 2025.

Coronation Street births of 2025

James Bailey holding baby Laila

1. Laila Bailey

Baby Laila Bailey made her dramatic entrance on the cobbles in March 2025, born at Weatherfield General to Dee‑Dee Bailey and the late Joel Deering. What should have been a joyful moment quickly turned harrowing, as Dee‑Dee’s labour spiralled into complications that forced an emergency delivery and a devastating hysterectomy, leaving her unable to have more children.

At first, Dee‑Dee insisted her brother James should adopt Laila, desperate to distance herself from Joel’s shadow. But as sleepless nights and tender feeds drew her closer to her daughter, she changed her mind, striking a co‑parenting deal with James instead.

From the start, Laila became more than just another Corrie tot – she was a spark for family feuds, emotional reckonings, and plenty of gossip in the Rovers. Whether it was Dee‑Dee wrestling with guilt, James stepping up as doting uncle‑turned‑co‑parent, or the wider Bailey clan rallying round, baby Laila’s arrival marked a turning point in Weatherfield life.

Coronation Street's Becky talking to Costello

2. The re-birth of Becky Swain

Okay, we’re kidding. Well, sort of.

Becky Swain was supposed to be dead for the last four years but out she comes, reviving and re-birthing into Tia Wardley and then re-birthing for a second time back into a very much alive Becky Swain.

It’s all hard to keep up with, but 2025 was the year the huge bombshell rocked Lisa and Betsy Swain’s worlds. Yes, villain Becky never actually died. She’d faked her own death and was now hoping to play happy families again.

Little did they know though that Becky was seriously corrupt. And, her number one aim was to rid the family of Lisa’s new lover Carla Connor. Brutal.

Coronation Street deaths of 2025

Dylan and Mason in dark Coronation Street promo

1. Mason Radcliffe

Mason Radcliffe’s time on the cobbles came to a shocking end in January 2025. And, true to Corrie form, it was packed with twists, tension, and heartbreak. After months of tormenting young residents and serving a stint in a youth offenders’ unit, Mason tried to reinvent himself. But Weatherfield doesn’t let secrets stay buried for long.

When Mason decided to give police evidence against his brothers Logan and Matty, he sealed his own fate. In a brutal showdown, the pair turned on him, and Mason was fatally stabbed.

The aftermath was frantic. Mason was rushed to hospital, with viewers clinging to hope that he might pull through. But despite desperate efforts, his injuries proved too severe, and his story ended in tragedy. It was a grim reminder that life on the cobbles can be as dangerous as it is dramatic.

His death not only closed the chapter on Weatherfield’s troubled teen but also set the stage for fresh fallout. And it still hasn’t even been recognised that the poor teen died for no reason. Becky Swain actually being alive meant that the ‘evidence’ Mason was looking for didn’t even exist. How cruel.

Craig Tinker in police uniform in Coronation Street

2. PC Craig Tinker

Craig, the long‑serving Weatherfield police constable, met his tragic end in May 2025 after a brutal attack while on duty. He had pulled over local troublemaker Mick Michaelis for drink‑driving, but the confrontation spiralled out of control.

Mick lashed out with a baseball bat, striking Craig over the head and leaving him unconscious in the Street. Maria Connor discovered him critically injured. He was then rushed to hospital, where doctors battled to save him. Despite CPR and desperate efforts, Craig’s condition deteriorated. He’d suffered swelling on the brain and was pronounced dead. Fans, who had followed his journey for 14 years, were devastated.

Playfully put, Craig went from chasing bad guys to being felled by one in a scene that felt more like a crime drama than a soap. His exit left Weatherfield reeling, with friends and family heartbroken, and viewers mourning the loss of Craigy, the gentle giant who grew up on the cobbles. His death not only marked the end of Colson Smith’s long run on the show but also set up fresh storylines, as Mick’s violent act rippled through the community.

Coronation Street's Julie and Eileen at the lakes

3. Julie Carp

Julie, played by Katy Cavanagh, came back to Weatherfield in February 2025 after nearly a decade away, rekindling ties with her half‑sister Eileen Grimshaw. But her comeback carried devastating news.

She revealed she was suffering from stage four sarcoma, a terminal cancer diagnosis that meant her time on the cobbles would be short. Yes, Corrie really did bring back the lovely ray of sunshine Julie just for her to die. We’re not over it and never will be.

In her final episodes, Julie tried to make the most of her days, sharing tender moments with Eileen, including a lakeside picnic. Tragically, Eileen returned from fetching refreshments to find Julie unresponsive, and she realised her sister had passed away. Sob, sob, sob.

The aftermath was just as dramatic, with police questioning whether Julie had used Eileen’s painkillers to end her own life, sparking scandal and speculation. Fans were devastated, having celebrated her comeback only to lose her again so quickly.

However, Julie’s exit was classic Corrie. She arrived with a smile, dropped a bombshell diagnosis, and bowed out with a twist that left Weatherfield gossiping for weeks. Her death not only closed the chapter on one of the show’s most colourful characters but also gave Eileen yet another emotional storyline to carry which resulted in her eventual exit.

Dom, Christina, Daniel and Daisy talking

4. Dom Norwood

Dom, best known for teaming up with Christina Boyd to fleece Weatherfield residents, was revealed to have died off‑screen in August 2025.

Christina broke the news to Jenny Connor, claiming her partner‑in‑crime had passed away. Jenny, who had already been burned by their dodgy schemes, wasn’t convinced for a second. She suspected the announcement was just another elaborate con designed to target George Shuttleworth, who was vulnerable after Eileen Grimshaw’s departure.

Viewers wondered if Dom was truly gone, or was this just the latest trick from Weatherfield’s resident hustlers.

However, when Jenny opened the lid on his coffin to ‘catch’ Christina out, she got a horrible shock. She came face to face with Dom’s body. Yes, he was dead. And, it was probably the first time that Christina was actually telling the truth.

Noah Hedley serious in Coronation Street

5. Noah Hedley

Noah, played by Richard Winsor, was introduced earlier this year. He was a church clerk with a sinister streak, notorious for his homophobic views and history of subjecting Theo Silverton to conversion therapy.

He wormed his way into Weatherfield life by dating Theo’s ex‑wife Danielle. And, even meddling with Theo’s children, preaching his toxic rhetoric. On 22 September 2025, the show revealed Noah had died suddenly of a heart attack. But in true Corrie fashion, the official explanation didn’t stop the speculation.

Viewers immediately suspected foul play, with Theo’s erratic behaviour and ongoing custody battles making him a prime suspect. Some fans even theorised that Noah’s demise was less about clogged arteries and more about cobbles karma catching up with him.

His death not only removed one of Weatherfield’s nastiest villains but also poured petrol on the fire of Theo and Todd’s storyline, leaving fans to wonder if the ‘heart attack’ was just the cover story for something far darker.
