Corriedale prepares to air in January

Filming is said to be underway for the special Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover episode, titled Corriedale.

In January, a one-off episode will see the worlds of both soaps merge for the first time.

Within the episode, characters from each other soaps will interact with each other as a huge stunt takes place.

The stunt will have a lasting impact on the lives of those affected. Although, ITV hasn’t yet confirmed who will be involved.

With many theories starting to circulate over the main storyline focus of the episode, a new Coronation Street fan theory has now predicted that it will involve Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey’s wedding day.

Fan theory predicts Debbie and Ronnie Corriedale wedding

A new Corriedale fan theory has suggested that Coronation Street’s Debbie and Ronnie might have their wedding at Emmerdale’s Home Farm.

The venue is certainly very much Debbie’s cup of tea, but could the day end in disaster?

On X, one fan theorised: “So Debbie and Ronnie have a wedding venue booked… that’s not Chariot Square or the Bistro. Home Farm? They would be the perfect duo to get most of Weatherfield to Emmerdale.”

Another person elaborated: “So what if instead of a Swarla wedding, the crossover is a Debbie/Ronnie wedding, or at least that’s the plan.

“Debbie and Ronnie would most likely invite a far more eclectic guest list than Lisa and Carla’s, so you could realistically have any combination of cast members present in Emmerdale. It doesn’t even have to necessarily involve Debbie and Ronnie. You can have different guests arriving at different points to create whatever combination of crossover cast that you want.

“Something then goes horribly wrong before the wedding can occur (maybe John shows up to seek revenge and Billy stumbles upon him, recognises him from the posters, and gets killed), and then that event carries over to Weatherfield.”
