Coronation Street was back to its very best this week and we absolutely loved it! Carla Connor Eva Price Maggie Driscoll Share By Kerry Barrett Nov 1 2025 By Kerry Barrett Nov 1 2025 Our Coronation Street review this week is part relief, part pure. joy. We’ve got to be honest, Corrie has felt like a big of a slog recently. It’s been more police drama than the comings and goings on a suburban street that we love. But it is BACK. Back where it belongs. And where it belongs is in the Rovers! For months and months, the Rovers has been deserted and passed over in favour of the Bistro or Speed Daal. But not any more. Because the Rovers has a new landlady and order has been restored. Eva was made to be landlady of the Rovers (Credit: ITV) Eva’s back! Monday’s episode began with Eva Price rocking up on the cobbles with new partner Ben and daughter Susie. And who was the first person to spot her? Why, her sworn enemy and nemesis, Maria Windass of course. Which meant Tyrone had to give us all a little recap of Maria and Eva’s rivalry over Aidan. The fake pregnancy, the fight in the fountain on the wedding day, the whole shebang. Amazing. Eva wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we loved her back then and we really love her now. Her arrival felt like one of those defibrillators, jumpstarting Corrie back to life. Article Continues Below Read all the latest Spoilers And Eva didn’t come alone. Little Susie is hilarious. Her partner Ben fits right in. And as for his mum, Maggie. She may not be Mancunian but her sharp asides, funny comments and steely glare are straight from the Ena Sharples/Elsie Tanner/Annie Walker school of Corrie legends. We love her already. The Battersby sisters are better together (Credit: ITV) The three blessed concubines of Nick Tilsley Leanne and Toyah work best as a team. Having them both floating around the Street, not speaking to one another, has felt very odd. And so one of the things we loved most about Eva’s return was her bringing the Battersby sisters – or as she dubbed them, ‘the three blessed concubines of Nick Tilsley’ – back together. Leanne walking in on Nick proposing to Toyah was classic Corrie. The three of them locking themselves in the bar and airing their grievances was great. More of this please! Gemma and Lauren ponder whether they’re needed at the Rovers staff meeting (Credit: ITV) The Rovers staff meeting We feel like a broken record now, but yes, this was also classic Corrie! Glenda and Sean work so well with Eva and Maggie. Though we have to say, Gemma and Lauren are a bit like spare parts. We’d actually forgotten Lauren existed. And we’ve been questioning why Gemma is still in Corrie for months. The quads’ birthday party just confirmed that really. It’s all so chaotic and pointless and not even very funny. So Eva can definitely rid of Gemma and Lauren, and keep Glenda and Sean. We loved Maggie and Asha’s interaction (Credit: ITV) The Driscoll family As it turned out, Dee-Dee Bailey’s new fella Ollie was already known to the Driscoll family! He’s Ben’s son. Which didn’t impress Dee-Dee very much as Ben had already annoyed her. He’s got another son, too – a teenager called Will who we’ve not met yet. The clever thing about the Driscolls’ arrival was that they got stuck in immediately. Maggie’s interaction with Asha was really sweet and showed us how she does have a heart underneath all those barbed comments to Eva. Plus Asha is now getting the help she needs, which is good news. And we LOVED Ben, Kev and Carl. We liked Ben stopping Kev from hitting Carl, and then we really liked him taking on Carl himself. Which brings us to… Carl manipulated an upset Debbie (Credit: ITV) Carl is an awful, awful person We knew this. But this week Debbie caught him and James about to kiss. She knew immediately what was going on. And yet, Carl – being the evil, manipulative person he is – told her she was wrong. He blamed it on her dementia. He took the chance to try to get her to hand over control of the hotel to him. And he generally proved he is a nasty man. Do not mess with Carla Connor, Becky (Credit: ITV) Carla’s back! Another icon returned this week – Carla Connor strolled back on to the cobbles after being in Ireland for a while. And she was NOT happy about girlfriend Lisa ‘throwing the lips’ on her ex-wife Becky. But we were quite happy that Carla’s back to sort out horrible Becky. Go, Mrs Connor! But the biggest question of the week was… Amy Barlow offered to get a punchbowl for Maggie ahead of the Halloween party at the Rovers. Off they went to Number One. And while she was hunting for the bowl in the kitchen, Amy asked Maggie to check in the sideboard. We do not know what Maggie saw in there, but her face made us laugh out loud. Hilarious!
