Hugely popular Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan has ‘returned’ to the set of the ITV soap, but is Jacob Hay coming back too?

This month marks three years since Jacob Hay left the soap in an exit which left many viewers devastated.

However, Jack’s co-star Elle Mulvaney has now teased that the star might be about to reprise his role.

Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan returns to soap set

Jacob Hay was the son of villain Damon Hay, and while he was somewhat of a bad boy himself he managed to have a successful redemption arc that led fans to warm to the character.

However, after some nasty threats from his father, Jacob fled from the cobbles in 2023 for his own safety.

Since then, many Coronation Street fans have been longing for the character to return to the soap. And, it looks as though they might just get their wish.

While no official return announcement has been made by ITV, actor Jack James Ryan has been seen back on set.

Amy Barlow star Elle Mulvaney took to her Instagram Stories this week and shared a recent photo from her dressing room mirror. Next to her were actors Harriet Bibby and… Jack James Ryan.

Teasing her followers even more, Elle then captioned the image: ‘We’re so back.’

But, does this mean that Jack’s coming back to the soap as Jacob?

Here’s whether Jacob Hay could be returning to Coronation Street

Fans were obviously very excited to see Jack back amongst his former Corrie colleagues and shared their joy over social media.

Many hoped that this was a teaser of a Jacob Hay return, with one writing: “Shut up, is Jacob coming back?!”

Another fan then replied: “I really hope so!”

A third hoped: “We need a reconnection with Amy.”

However, another less optimistic fan offered another explanation for the trio meeting up. They wrote: “I feel like he may have just popped in to see everyone, on his Insta it looked like he was going to Dock 10 Media City for something so maybe he just popped in.”

We’ll have to wait and see whether Jacob makes a welcomed reappearance back on those cobbles anytime soon!
