George Shuttleworth got into a spot of bother yesterday when a police officer turned up at his work to question him on Annie’s accusations. But, fans were left doing a double take after believing the officer was being played by the famous comedian. Now, everything has been cleared up. The police wanted to speak to George (Credit: ITV) The police questioned George Shuttleworth in Coronation Street George Shuttleworth has been dealing with some workplace drama recently, with the relative of his late client causing a scene. Annie has accused George of taking advantage of his clients before they die so that they’ll pop his name into their will. However, when office PC John Hall turned up… he wasn’t there to help Christina out. Instead, he was there to question George on Annie’s accusations. They thought that PC John Hall was played by the famous comedian, taking to social media to question the cast list for that night. One fan on Facebook wrote: “I thought it was Jason Manford,” while another person commented: “That copper looks like Jason Manford.” A third fan added: “I honestly had to do a double take,” and a fourth said: “He did say he wanted to be in Corrie.” A final viewer questioned on X: “Since when did Jason Manford star in Corrie?” Truth about ‘Jason Manford’ appearance revealed The Jason Manford confusion is understandable, despite the comedian actually not appearing in Weatherfield last night. Speaking to the Mirror in February, Jason revealed that he had been in talks with bosses about appearing on the soap, revealing: “There’s been a few conversations with them all. With Coronation Street, it would be silly not to at some point. I guess it’s just making sure that it’s right, that it’s not a gimmick, and it’s a character or a storyline that would be worth doing, not just for me but for the show. “So it’s just waiting for that time, really. I’ll always keep my eyes peeled and my hands open, certainly. But it’s all just timing.” However, this time, it wasn’t Jason on the cobbles but his lookalike played by Mark Morrell. He has actually being playing the recurring role of PC John Hall since 2014! Jason Manford himself though even referenced Mark looking like him back in 2018 in response to fan reaction at the time. Despite this, there’s no actual relation between Mark and Jason.
