EastEnders’ schedule has been disrupted by sporting fixtures for the last few months, but thankfully at the moment it is back to normal – so what time does it air on Wednesday, September 16, and is it on BBC iPlayer as normal?

EastEnders is supposed to air from Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm. Each episode also drops that day at 6am on BBC iPlayer. However, this isn’t always the case, and the soap sometimes has to move as other events take priority.

But when is EastEnders on today? And is it available on BBC iPlayer yet?

EastEnders is on screens tonight (Wednesday, September 16). It will air at the usual time of 7.30pm-8pm on BBC One.

The episode is also available to watch on BBC iPlayer from 6am, where it is released early every day for those who can’t wait to delve into the Walford drama.

EastEnders spoilers for tonight – Penny’s baby lie exposed

As the Square continues to reel following Zoe’s death, new life is about to arrive with Penny and Vinny’s baby due. It’s Vinny’s 30th birthday, but Penny is feeling too guilty about her lies over the baby father to be in a celebratory mood.

She tells Lauren she has to tell Vinny the truth before the baby is born. Lauren tries to persuade her not to, but Penny is adamant.

After a jibe from Suki during Vinny’s party, Penny goes outside for some air. And then her waters break.

As she gets to the hospital, Vinny is in a state and needs sobering up by Gina and Harry before he can go. He gets there just in time to see his son being born.

Penny soon decides she can’t tell him the truth and asks Lauren to keep quiet too. But someone has overheard everything…
