
Beth Cordingly ‘beside herself with excitement’ over Emmerdale star partner’s new role
She said he will be ‘brilliant’
Beth Cordingly has shared her excitement after her partner’s latest acting role was revealed. The Emmerdale actress, who portrays Ruby Fox-Milligan, took to Instagram to share her partner Ian Kelsey’s particularly exciting casting.
Ian is known for playing Dave Glover in Emmerdale in the 1990s. He is now due to star in Mamma Mia The Party in London in 2025, with Beth saying she is ‘beside herself’ about the happy news – and she certainly seems to be!

Emmerdale’s Ian Kelsey’s new role
It has been revealed that ex-Emmerdale favourite Ian will be joining the cast of Mamma Mia The Party at The O2 in London. He is taking on the role of Nikos from next year.
The actress shared the news on Instagram alongside a poster showing Ian in costume. He will be appearing in the show from 5 February until 25 June 2025.
Announcing the exciting news, Beth told her followers: “Literally beside myself with excitement over @iankelseyofficial’s next job…from Feb 5th 2025…he’s Nikos in… …MAMMA MIA THE PARTY AT THE O2.
“I know. Beyond. WE LOVE IAN KELSEY AND WE LOVE ABBA. To recap we’re talking @iankelseyofficial- (gorgeous) ABBA (amaze), a Greek taverna (lusho) AND RED WINE Perfection. Yes please. He will be brilliant. It will be sublime. I’ll see you there.”
Many fans flocked to congratulate Ian. One person commented: “This is the coolest thing ever,” while another said: “Congratulations Ian I deffo will come and see the show.”
“Oh this looks great, love a bit of ABBA x,” a third fan said. A final follower added: “It’s an amazing ABBA experience, absolutely loved it! He will be fab!! Xxx”.

Beth and Ian have been in a relationship for over three years. Beth was previously married to Adam Speers.
The actress regularly gushes over her partner Ian on social media, having previously praised him for being ‘amazing’ in a sweet tribute.
Beth previously shared: “I love you on tour. I love you at home. I love you away, I love you here. You are the stuff dreams are made of. Thank god I found you. #stillcantbelieveyourereal.
“It’s taken me 47 years to get here. And some amazing people in my life with everyday a school day. Stay open. Own your mistakes. WE ALL MAKE THEM. I MAKE HUNDREDS EVERY DAY. Proper CRINGE ONES. So. LEARN. Life IS a marathon not a sprint. Seatbelt on. There will be time.”
She concluded: “Thought for the day: The good ones do exist. Keep your eyes open. And when you find them – it’s terrifying, I KNOW. But be brave and reach out your hand and don’t let go. @iankelseyofficial I love you. Thank you for being amazing.”
