Manpreet behaviour makes no sense, fans blast

Emmerdale fans have blasted the recent storylines for Manpreet Sharma, claiming her behaviour is out of character.

It was revealed that Manpreet had been posting sexy photos online, and was subsequently blackmailed over the snaps.

But fans are confused as to why she’d do such a thing in the first place and have said it makes no sense.

Manpreet’s secret in Emmerdale

In a special flashback episode, Leyla was shocked to discover that Manpreet had quite an online presence. Leyla took the secret to her grave, but Manpreet received threatening text messages revealing that someone else knew her secret.

Manpreet later opened up to Ella Forster about what she had done, explaining she’d joined an Only Fans-style website. Manpreet told Ella that she’d just been looking for a confidence boost following her split from Charles.

But then one of her followers suggested a subscription site. Manpreet said the experience made her feel empowered at first, but following the text message, she was scared she’d be exposed and lose her job.

The mystery person then demanded money in exchange for their silence, gradually upping the fee to £10k, which Manpreet couldn’t afford.

Joe came to Manpreet’s rescue and offered to give her the money and insisted he didn’t want it back. Manpreet accepted Joe’s offer, not suspecting that there was clearly something up. Too good to be true and all that.

The truth was Joe Tate was in fact the blackmailer, and wanted to use the situation to have a hold on Manpreet so she’d be happy to do his bidding. One such favour came in getting blood from Caleb Miligan.

Manpreet brought Joe’s story that he just wanted to check if Caleb had a genetic disorder and risked her job yet again by supplying Joe with a vial of Caleb’s blood. Joe of course needed this to see if Caleb was a match for a kidney transplant.

Fans blast Manpreet ‘s behaviour in Emmerdale

Emmerdale viewers cannot believe the latest storylines and have headed to Reddit to express their surprise at Manpreet’s behaviour.

One fan said: “Literally nothing more than a convenient plot device to have Joe use Manpreet to get Caleb into position for the transplant,” with a second fan writing: “It’s beyond weird. I find it appalling that she cites professionalism while defending a man who should have been struck off.”
