Emmerdale Insider did love one thing in particular and it certainly had them smiling this week…

Ross Barton!

Boy, is he hilarious. His scenes with Charity while they were chasing Joe were the absolute highlight of the week! And then his warm understanding as Steph revealed her secret had us swooning.

Michael Parr is by far one of the most talented actors Emmerdale has. He has proved he can do the comedy. His sparring with both Joe Tate and Charity Dingle had us laughing our heads off.

But then his gorgeous scenes with Steph as she opened up to him proved he is so much more. Although he still played it with wit as he detailed his insane family history, he also played it with heart and truth and it was lovely.

Ross Barton – king of the one liners in Emmerdale this week

From teasing Charity about her make-up to winding up Joe, the Emmerdale scriptwriters have really given Mike some great material to work with lately.

Now it just needs to be translated into storylines. And we don’t mean Ross going back to his illegal fighting or doing some dodgy deal. Something that he could really get his teeth into.

Storylines we’d love to see for Ross

His romance with Steph is sweet, but what about Rebecca. Yes, yes, we know she’s dead, but she was killed off-screen and we know a death we haven’t witnessed (and even those we have sometimes!) is never actually a confirmed death in Emmerdale. Bring her back to stir up trouble. If she’s alive it would mean we could forgive Emmerdale for ever killing her off, something we are definitely not over yet.

Or if a Rebecca comeback is a complete no-no, then what about her son, Seb? He and Ross were really close, like father and son, but suddenly Seb was sent to live with a never-before-heard-of aunt in Bristol. Here’s an idea, kill the aunt off and bring Seb to live with Ross.

Then have Seb’s real dad Robert return so he can not only split up Aaron and John, but he can fight Ross to get his son back.
