Vinny and Gabby’s wedding aside, plenty more happened in Emmerdale tonight, namely Aaron Dingle starting to recover.

Victoria visited Robert

Vic visited her brother in prison who begged her to believe he is innocent. She didn’t. She told him he should never have been released because he was dangerous.

Robert desperately tried to prove his side of the story. He told her he would never hurt Aaron – he cradled him when he cried over Gordon, he loves him, why would he do anything to hurt him?

Victoria was still done with him. But could she be wavering?

Aaron’s condition improved in Emmerdale tonight

Chas was fearful when she saw the doctors in with Aaron, so Liam went in to find out what was going on. She saw the medics shaking their heads and knew it must be bad news.

John was with her and told her he had tried to prepare her for it. And then Victoria arrived to see Liam come out of the hospital room.

As Chas broke down, knowing the worst was coming, Liam corrected her. Aaron’s finally making progress and they are bringing him out of his coma tomorrow.

John’s reaction said it all

And at that point, John’s reaction to the news his husband was going to be okay was so delayed, Vic realised something wasn’t quite right.

It was subtle and momentary, but it took John too long to compose himself. Victoria must have seen something wasn’t right, but what will she do about it?

And is John going to do what he can to ensure Aaron doesn’t actually wake up? Something tells us the end is nigh for John…
