Vinny made a grand gesture

With Gabby out of hospital and recovering, Laurel pulled Vinny aside to check he really was sure about marrying Gabs. Laurel insisted people can get swept up in the moment and it’s better to say now rather than keep going with the whole thing feeling uncertain.

Vinny threw himself into spoiling Gabby and feeding her up, but she insisted she still needed to eat healthily for when they rearranged their engagement party.

At this point Vinny looked like he was going to speak up. He told Gabby he didn’t want an engagement party at all. She was stunned, but then he said it was because he didn’t want to wait he just wanted them to get married right away.

Gabby was thrilled and accepted and has not learnt anything from when Nicky did EXACTLY. THE. SAME. THING. and then turned out to be gay.

Cain lied to Sarah in Emmerdale tonight

Desperate not to cause any more heartache to suffering Sarah, Cain pushed full-steam ahead with sorting out a surrogate.

He talked to Liam about agencies, but Liam did not have much positive to offer – he said none of the agencies would be open to it given Sarah’s history and prognosis.

Charity was quite relieved as she is not on board with the idea at all. But Cain couldn’t bring himself to tell Sarah and lied Liam thought it was a brilliant idea. Great. How are you going to get yourself out of this one, Cain?

Lewis got overwhelmed

Things got a bit much for Lewis tonight when Nicola left him in charge and there was an influx of café customers. He retreated to the back room and started organising instead of serving.

Nicola came back and he explained he puts his headphones on to keep out the noise. She was surprisingly understanding – and even asked for a pair for herself!
