Natalie, 50, plays Moira Dingle on the ITV soap. Despite being sort-of happily married (!) to Cain Dingle on-screen, off-screen, the actress is happy to be on her own. Natalie plays Moira in Emmerdale (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb on why she has never married In a new interview with The Mirror, Natalie has revealed there is a personal reason behind her decision. “I’ve never been one for marriage. My mum got divorced when I was very young. I think my world shattered when that happened,” she said. “But I don’t believe people need marriage anymore. A lot of them have children – that’s a marriage in itself. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers “Im 50 now, I spent a lot of time trying to find love but it wasn’t the right thing for me. I should have just been more single then, rather than find something.” In 2020 it was revealed Natalie was dating her co-star Jonny Mcpherson (Liam Cavanagh). They had even moved in together during lockdown. However, things eventually ended between them and it’s not been known if Natalie has had a partner since. Natalie does not have children either, but is a devoted dog mum. In February last year her beloved pooch Bronson died. And Natalie confessed she has “never felt grief like it.” Despite that pain she is now mum to new puppy, Buddy, and she admited she’s happy that way: “I just love the companionship of an animal.” It has been a horrendous time for Moira lately (Credit: ITV) Moira Dingle on-screen Things are looking tricky for Moira right now as she faces financial ruin following the slurry tank disaster. Waiting in the wings to mop up the mess – and take over the farm – are Kim and Joe Tate. Moira is left with a huge dilemma and that’s made even worse when she gets into an altercation with Joe. When two masked men break into the barn, Kyle stabs one of them with a pitchfork. Moira comes to the rescue threatening them with her gun and she then confronts Joe, believing he set the whole thing up. But in the midst of Moira going to hit Joe, she accidentally hits Lydia instead. It starts another Dingle family feud and before long Moira is arrested.
