In particular, it’s not been a good 12 months for the women of the Dales. Out of the seven fatalities that have occurred, five of these have been female. The Valentine’s Day limo crash claimed the lives of Leyla Harding, Amy Barton and Suzy Merton. and we’re still not over it. Normally there’s the arrival of a new life to lift the mood. But that’s not been the case this year. The one baby born – a daughter to teen mum April Windsor – sadly didn’t survive Let’s take a look back at all the tragic losses, and the one person we weren’t that sad to say goodbye to. April gave birth to baby Rebecca while living rough (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale births in 2025: Rebecca Windsor There has only been one baby born in Emmerdale this year, but tragically their life was cut short. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Rebecca Windsor was stillborn, after her 15-year-old April went into premature labour while living on the streets. April ran away from home at Christmas 2024, but viewers only discovered her whereabouts weeks later. The vulnerable teen was revealed to be living rough – and pregnant. On the morning of February 4, April’s waters broke. Alone and scared, she pleaded for help from passersby, but they refused to stop. April made her way to a local gym, where she delivered her baby in a toilet cubicle. The child- a little girl – was sadly stillborn. The next day April was found by the police and taken to hospital. She was reunited with her dad Marlon, who was told about April’s tragic loss. April later revealed she’d got pregnant by a lad she’d met at a party, and ran away from home because she couldn’t face telling her family. Weeks later, April found the strength to register her baby’s birth. She named her deceased daughter Rebecca, in memory of Becca, a woman she met on the streets. Emmerdale deaths in 2025: Becca Becca was the tragic young woman who April Windsor met during her time living on the streets. She died on January 2, but this was shown in a flashback episode which aired on February 4, 2025. After running away from home, April met Becca. She was living rough in a squat in Leeds alongside Dylan. The pair took April in and taught her vital survival skills. Becca was kind and caring towards April and promised to protect her. Sadly their friendship came to a tragic end after Becca was fatally stabbed by a thug, who had stolen from her. She died in April’s arms, leaving her consumed with guilt. When April later delivered a stillborn baby girl, she named her Rebecca, in memory of her dead friend. Henry’s similarities to Zak were evident when speaking to Cain. (Credit: ITV) Henry Moore Kind-hearted Henry only appeared in two episodes, but he made a lasting impact. The OAP was an A&E patient at Hotten General Hospital, and waiting to be seen for chest pains. Henry was clearly suffering, but still found the time to offer comfort and cheer to his fellow patients. He struck up a conversation with Cain Dingle, who saw similarities between Henry and his late father Zak. Trainee doctor Jacob was assigned to look after Henry, but couldn’t save him. Henry died of heart failure, still sat in the waiting room chair, after Jacob momentarily stepped away. Jacob was left consumed with feelings of guilt, but his boss assured him that Henry’s passing had been peaceful. Anthony was murdered by Ruby (Credit: ITV/ Composite EI!) Emmerdale deaths in 2025: Anthony Fox Twisted Anthony Fox was at the centre of a gripping whodunnit, as his abusive past finally caught up with him. Nine locals were in the frame for murder, and every one of them had their reasons for wanting rid of Anthony. Emmerdale kept us guessing right up until the end when it was revealed that Ruby was the killer. She suffocated her father to death in the Depot in an act of revenge for the horrific abuse she’d endured at his hands. Nothing against actor Nicholas Day, who did a brilliant job of portraying evil Anthony, but we weren’t sad to see the character get his comeuppance. John Sugden helped cover up Ruby’s crime and disposed of Anthony’s body. However, fans were suspicious that they hadn’t seen an actual burial and started to question if Anthony was still alive. After months of not knowing, Anthony’s fate was confirmed by Caleb when he discovered his final resting place. Ruby is still getting away with murder. But for how much longer? Who died in the Emmerdale limo crash? Valentine’s Day ended in triple tragedy when three of Emmerdale’s ladies lost their lives in a horrific limo crash. But who met their maker? Suzy died on impact (Credit: ITV) Suzy Merton Party planner Suzy was the first victim of that perilous night. Charity was driving a group of local ladies through a country lane when Noah suddenly appeared in the road. Charity swerved the limo, which came off the road and plunged into an ice-covered lake. Suzy was killed on impact, after hitting her head on the ceiling of the vehicle. She went down with the limo and her body was later recovered. Vanessa was left heartbroken by the loss of the woman she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. However, it later transpired Suzy had been planning to dump her. Flashback scenes revealed Suzy had developed feelings for her friend Mary and the pair had shared a secret smooch just hours before her death. The bell tolled for Leyla too (Credit: ITV) Leyla Harding Perhaps the death the hit fans the hardest this year was that of long-timer Leyla. In 2024 it was announced favourite Roxy Shahidi would be leaving the soap after 16 years. The rumour mill went overdrive as fans speculated whether Leyla would be departing in a cab or coffin. Unfortunately it was the latter. Leyla suffered catastrophic injuries in the limo crash after she was impaled by a shard of ice. Kerry managed to get her friend out of the limo and dragged Leyla across the frozen lake, but her wound was too severe. She pronounced dead in the ambulance on the way to hospital. There wasn’t a dry eye as devastated Jacob (who was on shift at Hotten General at the time) discovered his mum’s dead body in the morgue. But that wasn’t the last we’d heard from Leyla. Less than a month later, Emmerdale aired a surprise twist when Leyla narrated her own her funeral. The special voiceover was a fitting end for a character who’s still very much missed. Amy was the third victim of the limo crash (Credit: ITV) Amy Barton We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again – Emmerdale made a mistake killing off Amy. Matty’s tragic missus was the third victim of the limo crash, but had everything to live for her. It wasn’t the actual crash that did it for Amy. She had managed to free herself from the wreckage, but fell through the ice while making her way to safety. As a result of being in the icy waters Amy developed severe hypothermia. She was rushed to hospital and looked to be turning a corner – but then suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away. Amy left behind her son Kyle, mum Kerry and poor Matty, who’s been bereft without her. Actress Natalie Ann Jamieson, who played Amy for six years, described her character’s exit as ‘iconic’, but admitted she hadn’t wanted to be written out. Bear was unable to save Anya (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale deaths in 2025: Anya Anya’s young life was cut tragically short when she fell victim to gangster farmer Celia and her son Ray. The pair trafficked Anya from abroad before imprisoning her at their farm to work as a slave. Events then took a further devastating turn when Anya fell sick. Bear pleaded with Ray to get Anya medical help, but he refused on the grounds that she was an illegal immigrant. Ray finally came through with the drugs, but it was too late. Anya had died. In a final act of cold-hearted cruelty, Celia forced Bear to dig his own friend’s grave in one of the fields at Butlers. Kim Tate’s horse Ice has died (Credit: ITV) Ice Kim Tate’s beloved horse became the last fatality in 2025 when he was put to sleep. Kim had been riding him and he was caught in a snare, shattering his leg. It meant Ice was in pain and with no chance of recovery, Joe Tate made the decision to have Ice put down. Kim was devastated and furious. But even more so when she discovered Lydia and Sam were to blame for it after hosting an illegal shooting party on the estate behind her back. Kim has banished everyone as she grieves for her beloved steed. He will be much missed.
