But we have a list of a few more that would also fit right in – and it seems fans agree. Here’s who we think should be brought back, pronto, to spice things up. Characters who need to come back to Emmerdale Jean was last seen heading to New Zealand with Zoe and Joe Tate (Credit: ITV//Shutterstock) Jean Tate Born in January 24 2003 to Zoe Tate and Scott Windsor, Jean is the cousin of Joe Tate. Zoe didn’t recall her one-night stand Scott, which had come while she was struggling with her schizophrenia. A bitter custody battle followed with attacks and thwarted escape attempts on both sides. Eventually Zoe left for New Zealand, along with little Jean. She also took Joe with her, which means Joe and Jean grew up almost like brother and sister. So where is Jean now? article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Fans think the time is right for her comeback: “Is now the time for Emmerdale to bring in Zoe Tate’s daughter Jean?!” mused one on Reddit. “Surely Joe must have had some closeness to her growing up yet she’s never been mentioned/spoken of as far as I’m aware? If they’re looking to give Joe roots and connections – this would be a big one to explore.” Others quickly agreed, with one suggesting Lucy Fallon – Corrie’s Bethany Platt – could play her. TJ was just a child last time we saw him (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock) TJ Woods Terry Junior – aka TJ – is the son of Dawn and Terry Woods, grandson of Bob Hope. He was born in October 2003. TJ was two and a half when his mum Dawn was killed in an explosion. Then when TJ was seven, he became an orphan after Terry was killed in a fire. Dawn’s dad Bob Hope decided the best thing for TJ would be for him to join his grandma Jean in Morocco. In 2012, Brenda went to visit TJ, and came back revealing she thought he was gay. However, not much has been heard of him since. Tony Audenshaw, who plays Bob, recently revealed he does not know what the future holds for Bob on the show. So we reckon a return for TJ would be just the ticket! Bob has been left bereft these last few years with various troubles and tragedies: “I mean, it’s been brilliant having these really big stories over the last few years,” Tony told Metro.co.uk. But he added: “There’s not been room for many laughs, because it’s a bit inappropriate. He’s got no partner at the moment, so maybe something might happen there. But I really don’t know what they’ve got planned for me. I’d love to do a bit more comedy.” So a return for TJ, who would be 21 now, would be just the ticket! As well as Bob, one fan commented it would give Jimmy King something to do. “It would also give Jimmy a new story as he’s the last King in the village that was involved in show home explosion tbh at killed TJ’s mum Dawn.” Kathy and Kim’s rivalry would be great to revisit (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock) Kathy Glover Kathy is also a popular choice amongst fans for an Emmerdale return. She was a mainstay in Emmerdale throughout the late 80s and the 90s before moving to Australia. Aside from being run over by Steve, Kathy had many other near death experiences. She was in a car suspended on the edge of a cliff and was involved in the bus crash that killed Butch Dingle. She was also famous for her many weddings and married Chris Tate and Dave Glover. Not all the weddings ended in marriage, mind. After Dave died, she hooked up with his former brother-in-law Biff, but he jilted her at the alter. “Bring back Kathy to fix the B&B,” said one on X. On Reddit, a commenter said: “I really want a Classic Emmerdale character to take over the B&B or at least co own it with Bob…Anyone such as TJ, Carly, Kathy, Kelly Windsor, Bernice or Paul, Diane.” Another agreed: “It would be really nice having her back on the canvas again. It might make this soap a little less of a horror show. “She has an extensive work history with Eric Pollard, and she’s also had a complicated and lengthy friendship with Kim Tate. Kathy, now older, being back might be another good influence on Kim.” Other characters who need to make a return to Emmerdale Although these are the top three on our wish list, we’ve got others who we think should come back.
