Oh no, none of this is over yet… April managed to get away from Ray (Credit: ITV) Ray let April go in Emmerdale tonight After Celia tasked Ray with killing April, he resigned himself to his future at Celia’s mercy. He even told Laurel he was leaving the next day and they were done. Stunned Laurel thought they were well on their way to a future together and couldn’t have been more confused at his cold demeanour. She put her cards on the table and asked him to stay and commit to her. Ray was clearly torn and desperate to agree. However he then took April into the woods and told her they were burying the evidence of her ‘murder of Callum’. She soon realised the hole they were digging was for her and she freaked out. She injured Ray and ran off, dropping her phone. Ray chased her and suddenly it was night time (!) He caught up with her as she fell over. April pleaded for her dad and Ray couldn’t do it. He told her to run away and never come back. He said he would deal with Celia, but she had to appear to be dead. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Is that really the last we’ll see of April? Kev persuaded John to let him go in Emmerdale (Credit: ITV) Kev also broke free With John waiting for the right moment to blow Robert up, Kev was desperate to persuade him not to. John at first didn’t listen, but when he explosive failed to detonate, he was more open to Kev’s suggestion. Kev insisted if John let him go, he would take Robert abroad and they’d never hear from them again. It would leave John free to make Aaron see they were meant to be together and he would get what he wanted without any blood shed. John agreed and untied Kev, but he was double-crossed when Kev told him he would never go into league with him. He beat John to the floor and left him rolling around in agony. But will he warn Robert and Aaron? John will not get away with this (Credit: ITV) What happens next for Kev and April in Emmerdale By tomorrow night (Thursday January 1) Ray has stayed with Laurel and is ignoring Celia’s calls. Meanwhile, Marlon, Rhona and Dylan are panicked that April did not retutrn home and they can’t get through to her. Where is she? But by next week, April is back, however clearly keeping a very dark secret. Ross has become involved and Marlon and Rhona are also hiding things. As Rhona asks if they will get any more repercussions from Ray and Celia, April assures them they won’t. But she is adamant they must go to the police. What has happened to Ray and Celia? And are they really in the clear? Elsewhere, Kev turns up in the village on New Year’s Day. Nicola spots him and gives him an ultimatum: come clean to Lewis about being his dad or leave for good. What will Kev decide? And what does this mean for John Sugden? By next week he is bound and gagged in Robert and Aaron’s flat. Does Kev have something to do with this?
