What happened in Emmerdale tonight – Marlon went to the police

After Celia’s threats on Thursday night (December 4) which saw her have Dylan run over to prove her point, Marlon and Rhona were at a loss over how to save April from her nightmare. Marlon insisted he would shadow her everywhere she went to make sure she was never sold for sex or had to deal drugs again.

But he soon realised that just wasn’t going to work, especially as Celia made it clear April would keep working for her as she owned the whole family now. ‘Throats would be slit’ if they didn’t comply with her orders.

Feeling totally trapped Marlon decided he was going to the police. Rhona was unsure, but after talking it through, they felt it was the only option. However April did not agree.

She insisted they would all be dead, but Marlon and Rhona pushed her to make a statement. Marlon took her to the police station and they waited. But panicked April starting have flashbacks to Ray shooting Marlon in her imaginary standalone episode.

April freaked out and fled. Marlon was left trying to get the police officer to take action even without her statement. But the officer said all they could do was start an investigation. It made Marlon realise this was not going to keep them safe.

Rhona in terrible danger

And he was dead right because as they returned home they found Rhona being held captive by Ray. She was terrified as he talked about what Pierce Harris had done to her and how Marlon should make sure not to let that happen again.

As April promised they didn’t tell the police anything, Ray’s chilling threat was clearly his final warning.

Are Marlon, Rhona and April leaving Emmerdale?

Feeling he had no other choice, Marlon told Rhona they were going to run. They would pack a bag, leave quietly first thing and go to a remote B&B to hide while they gathered evidence and worked on April confessing.

“I have been over and over this in my head and there is no other choice. Soon they’re going to know I handed over those names,” he told Rhona.

“We take Leo, we take April, we take Ivy. They win, we lose, it’s over. We’ve got to go Rhona, all of us tomorrow. We’re doing it.”

However at the same time, unsuspecting Laurel (some may say gullible) was comforting Ray over Dylan and advising he went to see April to offer her reassurance. Ray said he should do that – so will he catch them in the act of fleeing?

Whilst no official statement has been made on the future of Marlon, Rhona and April on the soap, no rumours of them leaving are flying around either.

And, Rhona is mentioned in spoilers for later in December when she sees Ray angry after lunch with Laurel and Celia and worries for her friend.

So we know they either don’t get away or don’t stay away for long. But how will they bring an end to Celia once and for all?
