Sam just very dramatically quit his job in Emmerdale as he took a stand to Joe Tate. But it appears this is just the beginning…

The last few days haven’t been great for the Dingle clan. Just as Lydia was getting excited at the thought of going to a Jason Donovan VIP experience, the electric went and they were forced to use the saved money.

Then, Sam was temporarily fired by Joe Tate after he was caught stealing Christmas trees. But when he got his job back, he felt like he was being taken advantage of. So, tonight, he took a stand.

Joe and Sam feud kicked off tonight

Sam and Joe had put their differences aside a few days ago. But tonight, that all changed. When the generator went out at the Dingle’s, Sam realised he was going to have to steal some of Pollards. But Joe arrived to ask him to work even though he had the day off.

When Sam realised just how big of a job it was, he headed to the farm to see if Cain could help him. Instead, he was greeted by Matty, who told him to tell Joe no for once.

This inspired Sam to march straight back up to Home Farm and inform Joe that he can’t do the job alone, which only acts as a catalyst for what happened next.

Joe informed Sam how disappointed he was, and tried to guilt trip him into helping, bringing the Christmas tree situation back up. But Sam had had enough and throws it back in his faces that Joe always thinks he was better than everyone.

And when Joe tried to tell him he was better than everyone, Sam brought up his habit of breaking up family’s – and with fans predicting another affair for Joe, he could be right. And Sam also mentioned the fact he caused three deaths earlier this year.

Battle lines were clearly drawn. But before Joe got the chance to fire him, Sam quit. However, this isn’t the end of their feud. And in a shocking turn, Kim Tate is about to end up in a bad way

Kim gets caught in the middle in Emmerdale spoilers

In Emmerdale spoilers for later this week, Lydia discovers Sam quit and begs him to get his job back. But when Joe refuses, Kim steps in.

However, the whole situation leaves Lydia questioning her own loyalty to Kim, especially after the rich queen of Home Farm only gives a small raffle donation.

Meanwhile, Sam is wanting his own revenge. So, he arranges a dodgy shoot on Home Farm land – behind Kim’s back. Needing help to cover for it, Lydia agrees to keep Kim in the dark. But while she is going against her best pal, Kim is pulling out all the stops to give Lydia the surprise of her life.

Lydia is forced to choose between Kim and the dodgy shoot when both need her presence. Then, she is surprised to find the one and only Jason Donovan performing live for her – a gift from Kim!

But immediately after the performance, Vanessa tells Kim that an unauthorised shoot is taking place. And when she heads off to investigate, a horrifying chain of events result in Kim lying in the woods alone and critically injured.

Unable to move her leg, Kim is trapped alone. But will she be found in time? And if Joe finds out that Sam was behind the dodgy shoot – it really could be war between them.

What else happened in Emmerdale tonight?

Aside from the Sam and Joe feud, Emmerdale tonight had a strong focus on Marlon and Rhona's escape plan.

But unfortunately for them, they didn't quite believe Ray when he said he had eyes everywhere. And they didn't manage to get away from the village.

Elsewhere, Vinny was excited at the thought of spending time alone with Lewis.

Read on for our full recap of Emmerdale tonight.

Marlon and Rhona tried to escape

After realising they had no other option, Marlon and Rhona packed up their things and tried to leave the village tonight.

They decided not to tell April, who was at the hospital telling Dylan that she would never leave him.

But when she realised what was happening, it was too late to stop them. However, Ray found a way.

But they came up with another plan in Emmerdale tonight

After Ray told them that they can't just leave, they headed home. April informed her family that they have to stick together - and she has to start dealing again.

But Marlon realised they only have one other choice - pay off April's debt. But will that be enough to get rid of Ray?

Vinny and Lewis bonded some more

Elsewhere, Vinny and Nicola discussed Christmas classics, and Vinny was shocked that Lewis never watches festive movies. But Lewis was equally as shocked that Vinny had never watched, or read, A Christmas Carol.

So, they made a deal. Vinny would read the book, and together they would watch Christmas movies. Very cute...

Kerry got a surprise letter in Emmerdale tonight

And finally, when she headed to tease Sam about stealing Pollard's electricity, Kerry was surprised to find a letter at the house.

But when she opened it, she got a huge shock.
