Mack’s ultimatum for Charity in Emmerdale

This evening in the Dales, Mackenzie Boyd got the shock of his life (and that’s saying something considering he’s almost died countless times) as Pollard informed him that Charity was planning on being Sarah and Jacob’s surrogate.

We’ve got to give it to Mack, he handled the situation rather well. Instead of flying off the handle in a child-like way like we might’ve expected him to, he took a more mature approach when confronting his wife.

With Charity and Sarah lying that they were only out shopping yesterday, Mack admitted that he knew about their surrogacy plans.

Charity then spent the rest of the episode telling Mack that she didn’t want to tell him anything until she knew it was even possible…

And that she felt obliged to grant Sarah’s wishes, stepping up to be there for her when Debbie Dingle was over the other side of the world.

Mack then suggested that Charity was only doing this to make herself feel better about her bad parenting of her own kids. Harsh.

He then told Charity that she had a big choice to make – to stay in their marriage or to go ahead with the surrogacy plans. So, in other words, she has to either break her granddaughter’s heart or her husband’s. Great.

But, Mack’s not playing games. It’s the surrogacy or their marriage… Which will Charity choose?

What else happened in Emmerdale tonight?

Also in Emmerdale tonight, Cain and Tracy tried to narrow down a list of suspects for Nate's murder before receiving answers.

And, Liam announced the news that a patient of the surgery had passed away.

Cain and Tracy joined forces in Emmerdale tonight

Cain and Tracy teamed up after Nate's funeral to go through a list of suspects.

After sometime going down the list, they decided to focus on those who were friends with or worked with Nate. Ruling out the likes of Matty and Caleb, there were only two names still to analyse - Mack and John.

However, before any thought was given to these villagers, a knock on the door from the local detective changed everything as the identity of Nate's 'killer' was uncovered.

Owen's 'confession'

With Claudette worrying about patient Owen, Liam did a house check and found him dead.

He then called the police who found a 'suicide note' 'confessing' to Nate's murder.

Liam then returned to the surgery to inform John and Claudette, with John trying to act surprised by the revelation.

Meanwhile, Tracy and Cain were informed that Owen had 'confessed' to Nate's murder and had no prior connections to him before his death. If only they knew the truth...

Later on at the pub, Robert Sugden found out about Owen's death and started becoming suspicious. We could practically see those cogs whirring away.

Pollard's concerns in Emmerdale tonight

Pollard enjoyed telling Mack about Charity's surrogacy plans before sitting down with Jacob and Sarah in a bid to talk them out of the whole process.

He then made it really clear that he didn't want Jacob's baby to be motherless, knowing that Sarah was going to die. Jacob then told his grandad to shut up and continued to defend Sarah. Well, that's that 'mean, old man' told.
