Emmerdale teases Bear breakthrough as Paddy finally gets him help, but a confession looms

Cain needs Bear to speak up

Cain Dingle did what we’ve all wanted to do in tonight’s Emmerdale – barged into Paddy’s house and demanded Bear speak up to protect Moira.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go very well and Paddy ended up throwing Cain out before comforting a very distressed Bear.

However, Cain won’t leave it alone and next week tries again to make Bear talk. It leads Paddy to make a big decision regarding his father, but will it be one he regrets?

Bear still confused in Emmerdale

Following Moira’s arrest on Monday and his own cancer diagnosis on Wednesday, Cain has been spiralling. He needs Moira out and free to support him through his treatment, but Bear is the only one who can give evidence to make that happen.

DS Walsh went to see Bear to talk to him about Moira’s blanket tonight (Friday February 6). Bear was confused, but did tell her he was there with Anya at the end and that he had dug Anya’s grave with Ray and Celia.

When Walsh pressed him on the blanket Anya was wrapped in Bear grew distressed, he couldn’t remember and he didn’t know the answer. He insisted he hadn’t hurt her, he wanted her to get better.

Paddy then put a stop to the interview and Walsh agreed.

Cain wants answers

But this wasn’t good enough for Cain Dingle. Despite Liam’s warnings that Bear was traumatised, Cain went to see him anyway. He burst into the house and demanded a word.

Paddy tried to get him to leave. But Cain ignored him and tried to get Bear to talk. Paddy wouldn’t allow it and said Bear needed time.

Cain raged as Bear broke down wailing “no, no, no, no,” and Paddy threw Cain out angrily.

Cain doesn’t give up next week

With news of Moira’s murder charge spreading and no sign of her getting out next week, Cain can’t control himself

He once again forces his way into Paddy’s and violently grabs Bear. He manhandles him aggressively trying to force him to speak out and save Moira.

Dylan comes home and makes Cain leave, but Paddy can see how distressed his dad is getting.

Paddy realises Bear needs help in Emmerdale

When Dylan confesses what really happened to Ray to April, she wants to help Bear. Bear finds her crying over all the bad things Ray made her do.

She opens up on how worried she is the police will charge her. Her tears and vulnerability make Bear feel able to open up too. He reveals his guilt at killing Ray. April assures him Ray was a bad man, but this only makes Bear more distressed.

Bear completely breaks down and Paddy finally realises he needs help. Professional help.

Paddy knows this is risky with the very real fear Bear will reveal what he did to Ray. But he arranges counselling anyway.

During the first session, Bear starts to suffer from severe guilt. But as he continues to breakdown is this finally the moment he will confess?
