Graham's future on Emmerdale confirmed after arrest as Jodie mystery deepens

There are more secrets surrounding Graham
Carena Crawford

Emmerdale is continuing to leave us hanging over exactly what Graham Foster’s connection is to Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsay. And tonight’s three-hander with Graham, Kim and Joe did nothing to explain it.

Graham revealed himself to Joe and Kim Tate and we watched as their shock became anger and sadness. Joe eventually made a move that Graham was not expecting: he called the police.

So does that mean Graham is leaving again? Is he set for prison? And just when will the Jodie mystery be explained?

Graham revealed himself to Kim and Joe Tate in Emmerdale tonight

After Graham arrived to prove the dead can come back to life on Tuesday (January 27) tonight’s episode (Wednesday January 28) was a three-hander between Graham, Joe and Kim.

Joe was sick after seeing Graham alive and then he laid into him, tearfully telling him he grieved him. Graham insisted over and again he never wanted to hurt Joe. He revealed Kim’s part in it all and it was all too much for Joe to take in.

Joe told Graham of his struggles, his kidney disease and fight for life. Graham said he had no idea and he was truly sorry. He claimed Joe was the reason he was back now. He begged for another chance.

But Graham’s apology didn’t extend to Kim. These two were still tearing strips off each other like the old days.

He reminded her they are still technically man and wife and she told him he wasn’t getting a penny out of her. However he said he came back because of Rhona and April, but the reason he is going to stay is because of Joe.

Joe told him “I am who I am because of you”, but then the police arrived to take Graham to the station to answer questions. Joe admitted he had called them

“You were gone and you should have stayed gone,” Joe told him as he left with the officers.

Graham replied: “You did what you had to do.”

So has Graham left Emmerdale again?

Faking your own death is a pretty serious offence. But as far as we can see he didn’t do it for financial gain or any sort of insurance money. And as he was actually helped by the police, does this loophole mean Graham will walk free?

Show boss Laura Shaw has previously confirmed that Graham’s return will not be a short stint. She said: “A familiar face is returning to the village full-time! None other than Graham Foster will make a sensational comeback.”

So that confirms Graham is here to stay. Hurrah!

What about the Graham and Jodie connection?

It’s good news his arrest won’t be the end of Graham because there’s still one burning mystery yet to be solved: what is his connection to Jodie? During Corriedale Graham had her tied up in the back of his van.

We thought we might get answers tonight when Joe asked Graham why he had returned now. Graham replied that he knew he couldn’t just walk away when he saw Joe in the hospital on the night of the Corriedale crash.

But when Joe then pressed him as to what he was doing there, Graham refused to explain why he was at the hospital in the first place. He swiftly changed the subject and it was forgotten.

But fans haven’t forgotten and are desperate to know. Some think he is Jodie’s father others think it was to do with the human trafficking ring Ray and Celia were running.

Whatever the truth, Emmerdale had better make sure they give us an explanation!
