Is Bear leaving Emmerdale? Manslaughter charge after Ray killing confession

Things aren't looking good for Bear
Carena Crawford

Bear Wolf has confessed to killing Ray Walters in Emmerdale and called the police on himself, but does this mean he is leaving the soap?

After weeks of being coached by Paddy Dingle to keep quiet over Ray’s death and claim he was in Hull, Bear broke during his first counselling session.

And despite the relief at it finally being out there, things aren’t looking good at all for Bear next week.

Bear confessed the truth about Ray

Earlier this week Paddy realised Bear had to have some counselling if he was ever going to deal with his trauma. He knew it was risky in that Bear might blurt out that he killed Ray, but there was no other way.

As the counselling began it soon became clear that Paddy’s fears were justified. Ray appeared to Bear, haunting him and trying to control his every word.

At first Bear was defensive of his former boss insisting Ray was a good man who cared for him. Ray was telling him what to say over his shoulder as Bear claimed Paddy didn’t understand him.

The counsellor then revealed she had been trafficked too so she knew what Bear was going through. It encouraged Bear to open up, but as they got to talking about Anya, Bear started to break down.

The counsellor offered comfort. But eventually Bear blurted out that he didn’t deserve it because he’s a murderer: he killed Ray.

Paddy later walked over to collect his dad, but instead saw him being led away in handcuffs to a police car. The counsellor revealed Bear had called the police and confessed himself.

Will Bear leave Emmerdale after killing Ray?

Spoilers for next week show us Bear struggles under questioning. He insists he acted alone, including being the one to move Ray’s body.

However a slip of the tongue soon alerts DS Walsh that he’s not being truthful. As she pushes for more answers, he tries to continue the line that he did it by himself to protect Paddy and Dylan.

They are both brought in for questioning too and stick to the same story.

Eventually Bear is charged with manslaughter.

Paddy and the solicitor are hopeful that if Bear pleads self-defence he will get off. However things take a dramatic turn for Bear when he says he wants to plead guilty as it’s the honorable thing to do.

Determined to be punished, Bear could be looking at a long time inside. So will he have to leave the soap? Or can anyone change his mind about his plea and make him see he is the victim here?
