Killer John's next move revealed as he kidnaps unconscious Robert

Robert has a date with danger
Joel Harley

Killer John Sugden kidnapped Robert in Emmerdale tonight (Tuesday, June 24), bundling his unconscious brother into the back of his van after a date went dangerously awry.

In an attempt to make Aaron jealous, Robert had arranged a date at the Hide. Although they initially hit it off, his scheme backfired when Aaron didn’t seem fazed by their public displays of affection. However, his date wasn’t about to take no for an answer – and spiked Rob’s drink.

John intercepted just in time to find Robert semi-conscious and extremely vulnerable. Sending his date packing, he shoved Robert into the back of his own van… and then drove off, with Robert unconcious in the back.

Robert in danger as a date takes a terrifying turn

John’s latest move came as he grew frustrated over Victoria’s sympathy for their brother. He was keen to twist the knife over her recent injury, but Victoria wasn’t having any of it. She shared her suspicion that Robert was suffering from PTSD – and suggested he, as an army medic, have a bit more sympathy.

Meanwhile, Robert tried to explained to Aaron what had happened. Aaron was sympathetic ear, but rejected Robert’s request for someone to talk to. Feeling spurned, he headed to The Hide, where he had a hot date set up.

Things quickly heated up with an offer to take the pizza home to bed. And, spotting Aaron, Robert also sensed an opportunity to make his ex-jealous, making a show of a big snog as John and Aaron looked on.

His attempt at making Aaron jealous a flop, Robert ended the date. But, as he headed inside to pay, his date took the opportunity to spike Rob’s drink – unaware that John was looking on from the shadows.

John intercepted as Robert was carried out of the Hide, sending his date packing with a warning. John then dragged an unconscious Robert into his van, cogs whirring as he calculated his next move.

As the Mamas and the Papas’ California Dreamin’ kicked in (say what you want about John, but he knows how to pick a good tune), he drove off, his brother unconscious in the back…

What does John have planned?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight (Tuesday, June 24)

Robert tangled with not one but two dangerous men with nefarious motives in Emmerdale tonight, finding himself in a terrible situation as the episode ended. Elsewhere, Jacob offered to support Sarah in her IVF journey - pledging to be the donor she needs, if she'll have him. Elsewhere, Belle tried to get Vanessa to change Tracy's mind over the funeral, and Billy found new living arrangements. Here's everything else that happened on Emmerdale tonight.

Jacob made Sarah an offer

Sarah accompanied Jacob as he laid some flowers down on his mum's grave. As they chatted, she revealed how worried she was about her IVF journey. Keen to support, he offered to be her sperm donor. In the cafe, they hashed out the details. Jacob told her that it'd be on her terms; with his involvement being as much or as little as she wanted. Later, as she researched the ins-and-outs, she was joined by a curious Kammy (line of the episode: "do they send it in the post?"). She explained Jacob's offer, seemingly talking herself into it as she considered what a 'top bloke' Jacob is. Sarah returned to find Jacob in the cafe, apologising for not jumping at his offer straight away. Ascertaining that he really was sure - and that it'd be her baby, not his - a deal was struck.

Belle begged for Vanessa's help

Meeting Vanessa for a coffee, Belle shared her worries that she'd ruined everything for the Dingles. She continued to stress Cain's innocence, and plead the Dingles' case that they be allowed to attend the funeral. Meanwhile, Vanessa was planning the service with Charles, finding comfort and solace as she shared her memories of Nate. Returning home, Vanessa attempted to sound out letting the Dingles attend - but aborted after seeing how cheered up Tracy appeared to be after her talk with Charles.

Billy's new pad

Loved-up Dawn and Joe were on a date in the village when they spotted Billy, moving into his new pad. Hoping to build bridges, they offered to lend a hand - and some of Kim's old furniture - but he was having none of it. Returning from their walk, Joe was horrified to see that someone had keyed his car. He immediately suspected Billy - but was he responsible?
