In Emmerdale tonight, Cain and Moira broke the hearts of absolutely everyone, as he finally told her about his cancer diagnosis.

Tonight’s special episode marked the longest-ever scene between Cain and Moira Dingle, which involved 12 minutes of a beautifully scripted conversation between the husband and wife.

After a month of keeping his cancer diagnosis a secret, Cain finally told Moira the truth in Emmerdale, and she begged him to tell the rest of the family. And as they’re set to find out, here’s how and when.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight?

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale was another special. It was again shot completely different to the way the episodes usually appear. And while viewers have been annoyed at how many special episodes there has been lately, it appears this was one they were fans of!

The entire episode followed Cain, while he dealt with the pressure from his family, the blackmail from Joe, and more bad health news.

In the first half of the episode, Cain tried to tell Joe he wasn’t getting the farm. But Joe reminded him once again that he has footage of him stealing his car, and Cain knows he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

But it was the second half of the episode that got everyone online talking. Cain went to visit Moira in prison, and finally told her just how serious his cancer is, and what has to happen for him to recover.

With Moira left heartbroken and shocked, she was stunned even further when he told her that Joe has been blackmailing him for the farm. After he said he wouldn’t let it go without a fight, Moira begged him to put his health first and tell the family what is going on.

And with her words ringing in his ears, here’s when and how the rest of the Dingle clan find out the truth.

Cain tells his family his cancer news

While Cain doesn’t want pity from anyone, he soon realises that he needs to listen to his wife’s words. And Emmerdale spoilers for tomorrow (Tuesday March 10) show he’s in for a very difficult conversation.

Cain gathers the Dingle clan to the house and braces himself to tell them all what has been happening. Naturally, they are all stunned by the news and all immediately want to find a way to help him.

Later, the whole family gathers at the Woolpack to show Cain just how many people care for him. But latee Sam gives him a speech about how much he means to the family. And an overwhelmed Cain quickly makes an excuse and heads outside.

However, telling his siblings isn’t the only big conversation he has to have that day. He also decides Kyle and Isaac need to know what is going on. So the head-of-the-Dingle clan heads to the back room to have possibly the toughest conversation ever with his kids.

Although, just as all of that is happening, Moira has summoned Kim to the prison. But what could she want to discuss? Whatever it is, Kim definitely gets a surprise.
