So whodunnit? We've seen all the suspects' stories and now Emmerdale finally reveals who killed Ray

The truth is about to come out about Ray's death

The last of the individual flashbacks has aired in Emmerdale tonight and next time the soap will confirm who killed Ray.

And, after tonight’s episode (Wednesday January 21), we’re as sure as ever there’s going to be a curveball thrown in there.

Marlon’s story before Ray’s death told in Emmerdale tonight

So far this week we’ve had focus on Laurel and Arthur Thomas and then Rhona Goskirk and Graham Foster. Tonight it became the turn of Marlon Dingle.

Marlon wanted answers over missing April and he grabbed Ray, threatening to kill him with his bare hands. But as Ray urged him to do it, Marlon couldn’t. Ray drove away with Marlon still threatening to kill him.

As Ray was then seen banging on Laurel’s door, Marlon limped after him with a knife ready to strike. But Ross caught him before he could do anything and demanded to know what on earth he was doing.

After Marlon revealed all, Ross was fuming that he hadn’t told him earlier and was determined to help. He told Marlon he wasn’t on his own any more and he would bring April home today.

Ross then went to the farm to ‘borrow’ one of Moira’s guns…

Paddy and Dylan also got involved…

Elsewhere tonight, Dylan finally confessed everything to Paddy. He even told him about Bear being up at the farm being kept as a slave. Paddy wouldn’t listen to Dylan’s pleas and was determined to go to the farm to get his dad.

He then saw Ray in the street and pinned him down, raging at him. Ray threatened Dylan again and Paddy told him the police would put him away.

Ray delivered the brutal blow that Bear was dead. He then got upset as he revealed to Paddy he was sorry and he had got revenge for Bear’s death. He turned the guilt trip round on Paddy and said if he hadn’t abandoned Bear none of it would have happened.

Paddy broke down sobbing. But then once again turned on Ray and laid into him.

Ray turned the tables again and told him Celia had killed Bear and “it wasn’t quick”. He left Paddy somewhere between anger and heartbreak, but definitely unpredictable.

So who killed Ray in Emmerdale?

Tomorrow night (Thursday January 22) the truth will be revealed. We will see all the key suspects and a montage of plots that point the finger at each of them.

Then we finally watch the day unfold from Ray’s perspective as we find out who killed him.

Ray is again seen standing over Celia’s dead body, wiping the prints off the weapon and getting his sports bag. He’ll then visit Bear, sob over his dead father figure and makes plans to dispose of Celia’s body.

As Ray is utterly broken, he still manages to cut an intimidating figure as he threatens Eve to ensure Paddy stays quiet.

We see Arthur steal Ray’s bag and Laurel shocked when he returns with it and they find it contains drugs.

So with Laurel desperate to protect her son, Arthur wanting to avenge his mother and Paddy’s family under threat, did one of them act?

Meanwhile, Ross has a gun, Marlon has murder in mind and Graham is prepared to do anything to protect Rhona. Was it one of these three who ended Ray’s life?

And why haven’t we seen much of April and Dylan all week?

Although every single one of them has a strong motive for murder, it’s hard to believe one of these long-standing, much-loved characters will actually turn killer. Even if it is someone as despicable as Ray.

Could it be that they all team up together? Or could there be yet another killer curveball. We are sure there’s at least one more twist to come. But what do you think?
