As the episode began, Aaron was forging ahead with his lie – telling John that he was off to collect some scrap. John knew the truth though, and was well aware that Aaron was really headed to prison to confront his ex. In the visiting room, Aaron found Robert in a terrible state – suffering a throbbing great black eye as the result of a prison beating. Robert pledged his love to Aaron… but agreed to stay away (Credit: ITV) Aaron begged Robert to stay away in Emmerdale tonight Not to be deterred, Aaron rejected Robert’s proclamations of love. He continued to insist that his future was with John. However, he was clearly conflicted – drawn to tears as Robert apologised for not reaching out when sister Liv died. As the conversation ended, Aaron revealed that he’d been the one who called the police – because he didn’t trust himself not to chase Robert. He begged Robert to stay away; for his sake, and for the love that they once had (and obviously still do). article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Problem solved? Not if John had anything to do with it! John’s meddling made things worse again (Credit: ITV) John ruined it for himself Just as it looked as though Robert had come to accept Aaron’s orders to steer clear, John managed to come in and stomp all over what he had just achieved. No sooner had Aaron left than Robert received his second visitor. As the brothers sat down for a chat, they wasted little time in letting the other man know how they felt. After trading barbs, John simmered with fury as Robert revealed that wedding kiss. John retaliated with a threat, telling Robert that he had ‘no idea’ what he’s capable of. Another mistake. As the mask slipped, Robert saw the reality of the man lurking beneath. He left John with a threat – nay, a promise – of his own, pledging to return to the village to expose John for what he really is. But what does Robert’s Inevitable return mean for John? And when will he be caught out anyway? John’s struggling to hold it together (Credit: ITV) When will John be exposed in Emmerdale? While some are worried that John is sticking around until Christmas and beyond, there’s been a few signs that his time is running out. A few weeks ago, star Oliver Farnworth opened up about his future on the soap. “I knew the length of the initial contract,” Oliver revealed. “…Because I had a year contract I was drip fed certain things.” “Like the military past, the fact that he was Jack Sugden’s estranged son. The fact that he was going to get into a relationship with someone in the village and the fact that parts of his past might come back to haunt him.” So there you have it! Oliver appears to be on a year’s contract with the soap. And, given he joined in August 2024, that timer is rapidly counting down. Does John only have weeks left? With Mack’s flash-forward still to play out, there’s no sign of John (Credit: ITV) Bad news for Mack… worse news for John as he’s exposed in Emmerdale Another clue viewers might have missed is an upcoming storyline involving Mack and Aaron… with no mention of John. With a chilling new villain headed to Emmerdale, maybe that flash-forward (who remembers running Mack?) has nothing to do with John at all? “We’ve got big stuff for Aaron and Mackenzie towards the end of summer into autumn,” Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw revealed. “We’ve got a big week of episodes planned there that is going to be life-changing for those two. She continued: “We’ve still got that flashforward from New Year to pay off – we haven’t forgotten about that – that might happen then, you’ll have to wait and see.” Is John’s end nigh?
