Belle and Kammy's happiness destroyed by Tom return, predict Emmerdale fans

Hands up if you’re enjoying Belle Dingle and Kammy Hadiq’s new romance in Emmerdale? Us too! But if Emmerdale fans are to be believed their happiness won’t last for long.

In fact, fans are certain that someone is set to make their shock return to split Belle and Kammy up. Tom King, Belle’s abusive ex-husband was sent to prison in December 2024. But some fans are predicting he’s about to make a surprise comeback.

Belle and Kammy try again in Emmerdale

Smitten Belle and Kammy first tried a romance last year. Fans were delighted at the coupling, but the soap quickly split them up after their first night together. The pair both believed there was no chemistry between them and they were better off as friends.

However that spark has refused to die and last week it was clear Kammy still has strong feelings for Belle. Lewis and Vinny intervened and helped get them back together.

This week they shared their first date. Things went well but Kam got nervous when he then had to attend a Dingle family party. However he came through and performed a Sonny and Cher duet with Belle at the karaoke. Aw.

Fans are thrilled the pair are back together, taking to social media to express their joy.

“This side of Belle is great, Kammy is just what she needed,” shared one. Another added “Both nice characters I just hope Emmerdale doesn’t ruin them as a couple. Need a nice happy couple for a change.”

Tom King to return to Emmerdale?

However some fans have started thinking that ruining them is exactly what the soap will do. They have been doing the maths on Tom King’s sentencing and think the timing is just right for him to be released.

Tom subjected Belle to months of abuse during their marriage. He was controlling and violent, plus he installed cameras to spy on her.

Belle finally realised she had to break free and Tom was eventually arrested. He went to court and brave Belle testified against him. Tom then got three years in prison.

That was in December 2024, so now it is coming up to 18 months since he went down. If he has been towing the line, having served half of his sentence, there is a chance he could be out on good behaviour any day now.

And that would spell bad news for Belle and Kammy.

Fans predict he’ll be back

Some viewers are certain it’s just the kind of stunt Emmerdale would pull.

Writing on social media, one said: “I wonder… Belle is happy now, if the script writers will bring [back] Tom King released on good behaviour to cause trouble.”

“Probably due for release,” agreed another. “Wouldn’t be surprised if the writers put a spanner in the works. Hopefully not, it would be nice if we could have a bit of a good feel factor for once, Belle deserves a bit of a happy storyline.”

“[Tom would] Put a cat among the pigeons,” said a third.

It would be a shame if Kammy and Belle didn’t get to enjoy their happiness for just a little while longer.
