As she prepares to become Sarah’s surrogate, some viewers believe she may end up pregnant with Mackenzie’s baby instead. If true, it would change everything – especially with Mack’s ultimatum and Sarah’s fragile health at stake. Here’s what’s fuelling the theory… Charity was devastated by Mack’s stance last night (Credit: ITV) Mackenzie found out the truth about Charity and flipped in Emmerdale last night Although Charity was pushing full-steam ahead with her surrogacy plans, having all the tests she needed, she had neglected to tell one important person: husband Mack. Charity insisted it was because she didn’t want to tell him until she knew if it was a viable option. But that didn’t really ring true. Eric Pollard meanwhile has been determined to put a stop to the baby plans, so told Mack himself. Mackenzie then raced home to confront Charity. He told her how devastated he was given Charity refused to carry his baby after their ectopic pregnancy. Charity then got the news she is physically and psychologically sound and can move on to the next stage of the fertility treatment. She insisted to Mack it was only nine months out of their lives and then it was back to normal: “It doesn’t have to affect us,” she pleaded. But Mackenzie couldn’t get past it: “You’re totally disregarding my feelings,” he argued. He then told her to choose: their marriage or the surrogacy. Mack and Charity can’t see eye-to-eye (Credit: ITV) Fan predict Charity baby twist Writing on a Reddit thread, one viewer posed the idea that Charity may not have to choose – because she may get pregnant with Mack’s baby. “Does anyone think a big twist might be – when all is done – that the baby might end up being Mack and Charity’s?” they asked. “Like, they go through all this, thinking she can’t really get pregnant herself any more, and at some point – likely during the IVF process – she gets pregnant, as obviously they’d still be having intercourse.” One person responded: “Interesting theory.” Another added: “You may be right, but this is a suspended reality because its a soap thing. In reality, they would advise Charity against intercourse for a period of time before and after implantation to prevent this from happening and to give implantation the best chance of working. “On Emmerdale, there is definitely a strong possibility of it being Charity and Mack’s baby rather than Sarah and Jacob’s.” Someone else said: “I feel like something will happen, but I don’t know what. But that could be a possibility!” They then added: “I was theorising last night that perhaps Sarah will die while Charity is pregnant and Charity and Mack end up raising the baby.
