We all knew that John Sugden would be back. So, when he rocked up during the Christmas period, it wasn’t that surprising. He had one goal – kill Robert and Kev so that he could live a life with Aaron. That, however, didn’t go to plan. Kev got away and warned Aaron that John was back. But by the time Aaron got home, John had Robert in his grasps. But tonight (January 5) saw Emmerdale and Coronation Street merge in a historic soap event. During which, we said our final goodbye to John Sugden. Aaron and John were in the crash (Credit: ITV) What happened to John Sugden in Corriedale? Aaron made John believe that it was him who he wanted to be with. So much so, that he knocked Robert unconscious, gave John a kiss, and promised they could run away together after all. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers However, by the time they got to his car, Aaron grabbed the gun off John, and gained the upper-hand. In the car, Aaron was forcing John to drive them to the police station for him to confess to everything. But in true John nature, that was never going to happen. When John realised he lost Aaron for good, he stopped paying attention to the road. And suddenly their vehicle was involved in a huge crash. John got out and ran through the woods. Whenever Robert eventually found Aaron, the pair took a moment to get engaged (romantic timing). But then Robert decided to hunt John down himself. In the woods, the Sugden brothers wrestled for the gun, which ended with Cain Dingle being shot. But later, Robert appeared back in the hospital with Aaron. The camera then ended on John’s lifeless body, with his sister, Victoria, standing above him, looking horrified at what she had done. A few months ago, Victoria actress, Isabel Hodgins announced she was expecting her first baby, with her husband, after their gorgeous wedding recently. There have been quite a lot of theories on how Victoria would temporarily bow out of the show. But now that Corriedale has confirmed she killed John. Could this be what drives her away. It still doesn’t confirm to us whether she goes to prison. Or maybe she goes on the run. But either way, her time in the village is officially running out. Of course, if she confides in Aaron and Robert about what happened with John, they would without even thinking, help her cover it up. But if Victoria does go to prison, could Robron take in her son, Harry? There has been quite a lot of focus on his relationship with the pair in recent weeks.
