So what’s happened? This week in Emmerdale has been a special week as we find out who killed Ray, but despite the format being a huge success, lots of fans remain unhappy. Some have even accused Emmerdale of forgetting about the Corriedale aftermath all together, with one writing: “Corrie basing the start of the year’s storylines around the fallout of Corriedale meanwhile bar Graham and the odd Vic scene about John, Emmerdale has basically forgotten about it… ” Has Emmerdale really forgotten the big plots? No one seems fussed about John’s death (Credit: ITV) Corriedale sets up huge plots for Emmerdale The Coronation Street crossover was a triumph. It set up huge storylines for both soaps. But while Coronation Street has focused on the fallout, Emmerdale seems to have forgotten it even happened. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers In Corriedale we saw Graham come back from the dead after six years. And then it took two weeks for us to even hear another thing about him. We also had an engagement for Robert and Aaron, but we’ve not seen Aaron really at all since. John Sugden was killed by his sister Victoria. In the days afterwards we saw her feeling guilty, but no one seems to be investigating John’s death nor have we heard much about it from the villagers he tormented. Charity’s baby secret has largely been forgotten too. Mackenzie was close to finding out the whole truth, but then he didn’t and that’s that. And Cain was told he might have cancer, but have we had any test results? None! Does Cain have cancer or not? (Credit: ITV) Fans unhappy Some watching at home are unhappy about the direction of the soap right now. “I think we got spoilt too much because not having Robert and Aaron on screen feels like punishment when we didn’t do anything wrong,” shared one fan on social media. Another added: “All that build up and that engagement now nothing.” A third said: “Now Cain is home, did we ever find out if he had cancer or not?” There will be answers (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale boss promises answers to Corriedale fallout Show boss Laura Shaw had assured us that the stories have not been forgotten at all. She recently said: “The truth about John’s death will be revealed, as Victoria’s clever deception, making John’s death look like suicide, will unravel.” This will ultimately lead to Vic’s exit as actress Isabel Hodgins prepares to welcome her first baby. “The truth surrounding Charity’s pregnancy is set to blow wide open,” Laura also teased. “Mackenzie mistakenly believes he could be the baby’s father, but the secret that Ross is the real father is still under wraps. “With the baby due in spring, the birth may be the event that finally exposes all of Charity’s secrets…” So it’ll be later in the year when this one explodes. Laura also added: “The Dingle family are set to face huge repercussions and Cain is at the centre of a major prostate cancer storyline spanning across 2026. “Adding to their devastation, Moira will be arrested for human trafficking, with her arrest timed to coincide with her husband’s diagnosis. Their complex marriage will be tested as they face dark times.” So it looks like Emmerdale has not ‘forgotten’ anything they are just biding their time to see the plots play out.
