Previously having lots of money and shares in businesses and properties, fans have no idea how he could’ve blown it all. He’s been in prison for six years, so what went so wrong? Robert’s new job in Emmerdale Robert returned to the village a few weeks ago and set out to settle back into the Dales after his prison stint. Planning on sticking around, he started to search for a job and turned his head to Caleb Miligan and Jai Sharma at the Depot. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Caleb did give Robert a helping hand until John Sugden meddled with Robert’s trial shift and caused it to fall through. He’s now got a new job helping Moira Dingle out on the farm, although he told dealer Ray today that he’s at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to knowing the ins and outs of the business. In a bid to make some cash and cause ‘mayhem,’ Robert then took all of Lewis’ weed from the barn and flogged it to Ray for a hefty sum of cash. But, does Robert even desperately need a job and money after all? Fans don’t think he does. Conning Lawrence White out of his money throughout the 2015-2017 period, fans are wondering where all the money vanished to… One fan on Reddit wrote: “What happened to Robert’s money/ investment? Didn’t he have £500,000 that be put somewhere, and also doesn’t he get a cut from the scrapyard???” Another shared: “He’s rich or poor as the story requires. Right now, he’s poor but give it a few months he’ll suddenly have money to buy out Caleb or someone for their business.” Another agreed: “I thought I was the only one who remembered about this! £580K he had supposedly invested – grew from a 35K cheque from Lawrence in the space of about two years….(minus the couple of hundred he burned with Aaron) I want the name of his financial advisor!!!” However, another fan had answers at the ready and explained where all of that previous cash went to: “He spent majority of it – he purchased a share in Home Farm which he did via that fraudulent woman pretending to be the one buying. He then signed that back over to Rebecca in Seb’s name to prove he just wanted his son. Meaning he essentially gave the money to Seb. “So when Bex’s family sold Home Farm that money will have most likely have been placed into a trust for Seb which Bex would have until he’s 21. “Which is why when Robert needed £100,000 for Aaron’s hostage situation he had to go to Joe.” There we have it then. Looks like he does need that cash after all!
