Emmerdale follow-up: Mack facing prison for slurry tank leak? All we know

Mack's in hot water
Joel Harley

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Monday, May 19) saw Mack Boyd struggle with his guilt over last week’s slurry leak. Mack wasn’t really responsible – it was actually John’s fault, having tampered with the tank to make his rival look bad– but no-one knows that yet.

Mack was still a pariah as the fallout continued, receiving a brutal a humiliating verbal (and almost physical) battering from Cain. The insurance company were refusing to cover the costs, due to Mack’s negligence – leaving Moira with a hefty clean-up bill.

Fuming, Cain demanded that Charity sell the Woolpack to make up for the costs of the farm.

Mack facing prison time for slurry leak on Emmerdale?

Going to see Aaron, Mack’s bad day worsened when his best pal told him he hadn’t exactly handled the slurry leak well. Mack was upset to hear that he’d acted a bit aloof, and perhaps should have been to see Victoria and Harry by now.

This he did, and at the hospital, an emotional Victoria told him that she’d be holding him firmly responsible if Harry didn’t pull through.

Ushered out of the room by John, Mack began to panic, realising the gravity of the situation and the calamity he’d apparently caused.

With Harry still gravely ill, is Mack in even deeper trouble than he knows?

Mack attempts to make amends in Emmerdale spoilers this week

As the week continues, guilty Mack is desperate to make amends with Moira after the slurry leak. With Harry recovering, Mack doesn’t seem to be at risk of arrest just yet… and upcoming spoilers haven’t suggested that the police are particularly interested in what’s happened.

But with Moira still shutting him out, he’s still feeling guilty about the leak, and pulls out of being Aaron’s best man. Later, he grows suspicious when he sees Ross lurking at the farm with brother Lewis – and notices the cannabis plants they’re hiding.

Sworn to silence, Mack senses a solution to the farm’s fines. But, when he realises that they don’t have enough for what they need, Mack devises an alternate plan.

He seems to have escaped legal recourse for the slurry (for now!) but could what he has planned next put him in trouble with the law?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight (Monday, May 19)

Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight, the slurry leak remained the talk of the town. As Mack continued to feel guilty over his part in the water contamination, Moira stressed that she might lose the farm.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, John and Aaron were at a worried Victoria's side as she held vigil over Harry.

The lad was still on a drip and, as a result of the slurry leak, Charles and Claudette had also been taken ill.

Joe returned to Home Farm - and Billy and Dawn were fuming

Billy arrived at Home Farm to pick up the kids. He apologised for his harsh words yesterday, but was dismayed to find Joe there.

Joe wasted little time in winding up Billy, almost earning himself a beating - wheelchair or no wheelchair.

He was keen on a quiet night in with Dawn, but she was still fuming over his attitude earlier, and brushed off his request for a nice little breakfast together.

Ross met with Lewis

At Moira's farm, Ross was getting more calls from Lewis. He arranged to meet with his estranged sibling, getting to know each other over lunch at the cafe.

As they shared a coffee and a sandwich, Lewis told Ross that he'd been looking into their family history online - and learned all about their mum and how she'd shot Finn.

He then pressed Ross on his burns, putting his brother on edge. Apologising for his bluntness, Lewis explained that he was autistic, which made him susceptible to bluntness in speech and less tolerance for big crowds and loud noise.

As the subject turned to Moira, Lewis decided that he wanted to meet the woman who killed his mum.

Ross agreed to play middle-man and, although the timing couldn't be worse, spoke to Moira about Lewis later that day.

Sarah's hiding a secret

Sarah confirmed her appointment at the Fertility Clinic, but was determined to keep it a secret from her grandparents.

Struggling for the funds, she pressed Cain for an advance on her pay. Her secrecy left Cain suspicious, but after some nagging she managed to secure the money she needed.
