But very quickly, he became a huge success with viewers. However, not much is known about his past – until now. When he first appeared, Kammy was merely a distraction for Sarah, as she went through her break-up with Jacob and her cancer. But after just a few episodes, it was clear he was sticking around. And fans were absolutely thrilled. Now, almost one year since his arrival, actor Shebz Miah has confirmed Emmerdale fans will finally discover more about him. And in true soap fashion, there will be some “tragedy” involved. Fans very quickly loved Kammy (Credit: ITV) Shebz confirms Kammy storyline Speaking on the Inside Soap’s Soap Scoop podcast, Shebz confirmed that there will be more to come from Kammy this year. As it turns out, Shebz has just had the meeting with the Emmerdale bosses, to discuss the finer details of the long-term storyline. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers He explained: “You guys are in for a surprise, I’ll tell you that. It’s a hot topic at the moment with Kammy. Everyone is always asking me: ‘When do we get to learn more about him and understand what’s happening?'” Shebz admitted he has spent the last lot of months in meetings with producers and writers, trying to come up with a worthy backstory. And finally, they have one, and even Shebz didn’t “imagine” what it was. He said: “Honestly, it was a mixture of emotions when I found out. There was a lot of relief, there was happiness. But then, there is also a tragic side to it as well. “There’s some tragedy in there. But it all makes sense. There is a reason why he is so cheery and charismatic.” Kammy’s backstory will finally be explained (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale fans ‘thrilled’ over the news As soon as the news dropped, Emmerdale fans couldn’t contain their excitement. For months, Kammy has been growing as a fan-favourite character, so getting to learn more about him is really intriguing for fans. Taking to a Reddit thread, Emmerdale fans discussed the news. And it was clear everyone has been wanting it for a while. One said: “I’m so excited to see this because he has been a great addition to the show. It’s about time we saw his story!” Another agreed: “It’s nice we’re getting a storyline with a brand-new family. And not just more long-lost siblings.” “Really looking forward to it. I think the fact we know nothing about it makes it more exciting. So much possibility,” a third added. However, some fans were concerned that it would be another dark storyline, due to the tragic element. One commented: “I like Kammy but please don’t let his family be full of serial killers!” A fan agreed: “I am dreading it, entirely because of the ‘tragic’ element.” One fan offered a solution. They penned: “It does make me cautious. But I am hoping the ‘element’ means it’s not all doom and gloom. Maybe he just grew up poor and struggled. Maybe he lost his dad and had to be the ‘man’ of the house.” Whatever it is, we can not wait to see it play out on our screens and for Kammy to finally get the chance to shine on Emmerdale.
