Robert made a surprise entrance back onto our screens last night (Wednesday, May 28), attempting to stop John and Aaron’s wedding. But, why is he back? Well, we reckon it’s for Aaron! Robron reference Yesterday evening, after the big episode aired onto our screens, Emmerdale posted a behind-the-scenes video of Robert’s initial return scenes. In the Instagram video, Danny Miller and Ryan Hawley could be seen beaming after keeping such a big return a secret for so long. It felt like we’d jumped back in time to 2016, at the heigh of the Robron era. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The video was captioned: “The Rob to Danny’s Ron.” Now, if this isn’t a clue that Robron are getting back together, we don’t know what is! 2. Sticking around Also in the video, Danny Miller hoped that Ryan would be ‘staying,’ and it seems that he’ll get his wish as it’s been confirmed that Robert will be coming back to the Dales permanently. Yes, this isn’t a drill. It’s actually happening! Speaking to the Mirror, Ryan Hawley revealed: “The secret is out today! My character is returning permanently and not just for Aaron and John’s wedding. I am back for good, and I am so excited to be playing Robert again.” Unless Aaron gets back with Robert, we’re having trouble figuring out how he’ll end up sticking around in the village… Surely, the only reason he’d stay put would be for Aaron… Will Aaron choose Robert? Aaron’s choice Back in the video, when Danny mentioned Ryan ‘staying around’ as Robert, Ryan admitted that ‘it was Aaron’s choice.’ We now know that Robert will be sticking around… So, Aaron MUST choose him, right? Right? And we all know that, if Aaron was being honest with himself, Robert is the true love of Aaron’s life. So, it’s really a no-brainer when it comes to making this decision. Sorry John, as much as you’re trying to be like Robert with the whole killing thing, you just don’t have a patch on him! 4. Aaron gravitates towards Robert – despite everything In a spoiler clip for tonight’s episode (Thursday, May 29), Robert can be seen telling Aaron he’s ‘saving him from making the biggest mistake of his life.’ John Sugden tries to pull Aaron back but the pull Robert has on Aaron is just too great, with Aaron shoving John off and walking over to Robert.
