And in SoapLand, it’s never just a random person that makes the big purchases. Soaps like to keep things familiar, and in doing so whenever a property like a pub, house or a shop is up for sale, more times than not it’s someone in the show that will end up buying it. Eric is currently adamant that selling the shop is the only way he can pay Brenda all the money he owes her. What he doesn’t know is that Tracy has been stealing from him as she struggles with financial issues. And while the truth looks set to come out, the question remains: if Eric sells the shop, who in Emmerdale is most likely to buy it? Let’s have a look at the options. Claudette could own the shop (Credit: ITV) 1. Claudette to buy the shop from Eric? Taking to a Reddit thread where they discussed who they think will buy the shop, one viewer suggested Claudette would be a good choice. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers They penned: “I think it would be good to have it a bit more central. Like the post office with Viv and the Windsors. Someone like Claudette should run it for all of the gossip.” As Claudette doesn’t currently have that much going on, giving her full control of the shop could be a way to provide more of a storyline for her! Could Kim buy the shop? (Credit: ITV) 2. Kim Tate The Queen of Home Farm may set her sights on the shop. And if she does, she is one step closer to owning the entire village – sounds like something she would like! While Kim may have had the option in the past to buy it and refused, if she sees a way to profit from it we don’t think she would say no. One user commented: “Maybe Kim will buy it. I think she refused last time before Eric was because David was a spectacularly bad shopkeeper. So maybe she will this time.” Gabby and Vinny to begin their own empire? (Credit: ITV) 3. Vinny and Gabby to own Emmerdale Eric’s shop? A strong contender seems to be Vinny and Gabby, with many believing they will use Liv’s insurance money. With them having just moved out of Home Farm, perhaps the couple are looking to their future and decide on a career move as well as a house move! “Vinny has Liv’s insurance money. He could buy it to expand his and Gabby’s burgeoning empire”, one fan wrote. This was backed up by another: “Vinny and Gabby sound like a good option. They get a business to run and a house to live in. I don’t think living at the Dingle’s will work – they won’t be able to put up with Gabby.” Nicola and Jimmy could own quite a lot of the village (Credit: ITV) 4. Nicola One fan pointed out that Nicola “likes to buy businesses” so maybe the shop could be her and Jimmy’s next investment. The King’s already have the cafe and the B&B, so if they were to purchase the shop they are quickly on the run to owning quite a large portion of the Emmerdale village. Perhaps Jacob inherited some money from Leyla (Credit: ITV) 5. Jacob In an idea world Eric would be able to continue running the shop without someone else taking over. So, what better way than keeping the sale in the family? Obviously it would only work if Jacob had enough money. And with him focussed on his medical training, he probably wouldn’t have time to run it himself. “Maybe Jacob will inherit insurance money from Leyla. He can buy it and live in the flat. That would keep it in Eric’s family and he could employ other villagers to work there.” Maybe Manpreet will be out of a job (Credit: ITV) 6. Manpreet If her online profile scandal gets out, Manpreet could be out of a job. And if that’s the case then maybe she will be looking for other options. One fan guessed: “Manpreet will probably need somewhere else if her pictures become public knowledge.” Although only a few weeks ago she was asking Joe for a loan so something makes us think she doesn’t have enough money for the shop!
