But fans are not behind the idea at all. In fact, in an exclusive poll for Emmerdale Insider, they have overwhelmingly voted against the plan. Charity just wants to make her granddaughter happy – but is her rash decision really the right one? Will Sarah accept Charity’s offer? (Credit: ITV) Charity Dingle to be Sarah’s surrogate in Emmerdale When Sarah was forced to have an emergency hysterectomy, she thought her dreams of becoming a mum were over. Devastated was an understatement and despite putting on a brave face, she broke down on grandad Cain Dingle last week admitting how heartbroken she truly was. Determined to fix it, Cain suggested surrogacy. But it proved harder than he thought, with no reputable agency willing to carry a child for Sarah given her life-limiting condition. So he and Charity decided to explore other options: namely Charity bombarding Victoria with reasons why she should be Sarah’s surrogate. This has been on the cards for weeks and fans are firmly against it. In Emmerdale Insider’s exclusive poll, 60 percent of viewers think it’s too risky for Charity to carry her great grandchild. They believe given her age – Charity is nearly 50 – it could provide too many complications. But are they right? Over on social media, many users also agree her age makes this whole thing rather tricky. “Charity’s 49. The risks are high for her being a surrogate at that that age,” said one. A further commenter added: “No way should Charity even consider being a surrogate for Sarah, it’d be daft.” “I won’t lie, I am concerned with Charity offering to be a surrogate. Realistically, she is a 49-year-old woman, which has complications in itself, but also carrying her own granddaughter’s baby is rather wild. I won’t judge until I see, but this must be done right,” agreed a third. A fourth simply said: “Charity even thinking about Sarah’s surrogate is insanity. It seems Charity is dead set on growing and birthing her great grandchild – no matter what the cost. She knows it’s risky and is even keeping the truth from husband Mackenzie. But she won’t be able to for long because he finds out via Eric Pollard next week. Mack is completely thrown and tells Charity it’s their marriage or the baby.
