Corriedale delivered shock after shock, but the one we’re not recovered from was the return of dead Graham Foster to Emmerdale.

Supposedly killed six years ago, Emmerdale has brought him back from the dead. And putting aside all the whys, whats and how on earths, we’ve started to wonder: did he kill Ray Walters?

If we break it down, it definitely makes sense. But is it a real possibility? Let’s investigate…

Graham Foster returns to Emmerdale 6 years after his ‘death’

Andrew Scarborough played the iconic character between 2017 and 2020. Graham then supposedly died at the hands of Rhona’s ex husband and rapist Pierce Harris. Or so it seemed.

Kim had him cremated and Rhona wasn’t able to attend the funeral of the man she was planning to move away with. Rhona grieved and moved on with her ex Marlon Dingle.

In Monday’s historic crossover with Coronation Street (January 5) we saw a mystery man with an unknown woman tied up in his van.

During the crash, his van got caught up in the aftermath. But it wasn’t until Joe Tate arrived that the man got out of his vehicle.

In the ensuing explosion, the woman he had tied up escaped. However, the seemed to be more concerned with making sure Joe was okay. He was next seen at the hospital watching Joe’s room.

And that’s when we finally got to see his face. The one and only, Graham Foster.

Graham made a phone call, told the person on the other end that the woman got away and he was “terminating the contract”. He explained, looking at Joe, he now had something else he needed to do.

Who was Graham on the phone to?

Speculation is rife that Graham was calling Rhona! His ex had been seen earlier on making a secretive call herself – and fans have put two and two together and come up with the idea they are working together.

Also in the earlier Emmerdale episode, Ray Walters was seen dead and being dragged away by an unknown assailant.

This has pushed the theory even further: Graham killed Ray to protect Rhona.

When they were together, Rhona and Graham had a real love and a real connection. He had visited Pierce to make sure the abuser stayed well away from Rhona on his release. Would he now step in and risk revealing he is still alive to protect her again?

“So, was Rhona on the phone to Graham and it was him that’s done Ray in?” asked one on social media.

Another suggested: “Just a thought, did Rhona call Graham and he killed Ray making that she knew he was alive all this time it make so much sense.”

“Wild theory, but could Rhona have been talking to Graham and he’s killed Ray?” queried a third.

The woman in the back of Graham’s van does complicate things, but given Ray and Celia were running a human trafficking business, it could somehow be connected to that.

Did Graham kill Ray in Emmerdale?

In an exclusive chat with punditarena.com spokesperson Joe Lyons he revealed the odds on who killed Ray Walters.

“Ross Barton leads the market at 2/1 following strong motive-led episodes, with Marlon Dingle and Laurel Thomas next in the betting after continued suspicion.

“April Windsor and Rhona Goskirk remain viable outsiders, while longer prices for Dylan Penders and Jai Sharma reflect their current standing in the storyline.”

All seems pretty straightforward so far, but Joe then added: “However, with Emmerdale rarely rewarding the obvious, a hidden or unrevealed suspect at 7/1 remains an intriguing prospect.”

Could that hidden suspect be Graham? We’re starting to think this all adds up…
