Emmerdale has seen an influx of newcomer characters recently, with all of them making a strong impression on viewers – especially Lewis Barton.

Recent weeks have seen breath of fresh air Lewis, Kim Tate 2.0 Celia Daniels and creepy villain Ray all bursting onto the scene in unforgettable ways.

And now Emmerdale fans have had their say on which newcomer is the best.

Newcomer Lewis, Celia and Ray join Emmerdale

Lewis Barton made his first appearance in May. Ross initially rejected his long-lost brother. But, the two have since formed a close bond, with Ross becoming very protective of his little brother.

After Moira discovered their cannabis farm, Ross was quick to jump in. He insisted Lewis had nothing to do with it – despite him being the one to grow the stuff in the first place.

Farmer Celia Daniels popped up this week and her first scenes had fans comparing her to a 90s Kim Tate. As she clashed with Moira and Paddy, it became clear that Celia means business.

After Paddy was brutally attacked by Celia’s dog, an ‘insane’ Celia roared at Paddy and told him to forget he’d ever seen a dog. She’s definitely not one to be messed with.

Dealer Ray, meanwhile, arrived this week after Mackenzie Boyd tried to set up a deal for Lewis’ weed in order to make money to save Moira’s farm.

After Lewis refused and Mack tried to go back on the deal, Ray warned them not to mess him around. Robert later stole the weed and made his own deal with Ray – probably saving Mack from having his legs broken in the process.

Fans vote for their favourite newcomer

In an exclusive poll for Emmerdale Insider, fans were asked to vote for their favourite newcomer.

It was a big victory for Lewis, played by Bradley Riches, who received over 65% of the vote. Fans think Lewis is a breath of fresh air and really enjoy his scenes with half-brother Ross.

Celia, played by Casualty star Jaye Griffiths, was in second place, with just over 18% of the vote. While Ray, played by former EastEnders star Joe Absolom, was in third place with just over 16%.

However, will the views change as we see more of the newcomers?
