John Sugden may also not be long for this world

It could be bad news for Sarah Sugden in Emmerdale when the Corriedale special airs as she is the favourite to be killed.

Corriedale is a matter of weeks away and talk is all about which Emmerdale and Coronation Street characters will die. And it seems the future is not looking too bright for Sarah in our exclusive odds.

Sarah Sugden favourite to be killed in Corriedale

With odds of 4/5 Sarah Sugden, played by Katie Hill is the favourite Emmerdale character to die.

Sarah is currently at the centre of a surrogacy storyline. Her gran Charity Dingle is carrying a child for Sarah and Jacob Gallagher, but the baby is actually Charity and Ross Barton’s. With the secret set to explode at Christmas, will the crash carnage see Sarah lose her life too?

Hot on Sarah’s heels is John Sugden at 2/1. He is set to return at Christmas and we know he will be central to the Corriedale plots. Ray Walters is also 7/2 to be offed.

Fortunately Cain Dingle looks to be safe as he is only 16/1 to die.

As for Coronation Street, Becky Swain leads the way at 10/11, closely followed by Billy Mayhew, who we already know is a goner this festive season, at 2/1.

Shane Orton from sportscasting.com/uk told us: “With ITV confirming a major crash at the centre of the Corrie-Emmerdale crossover, the Emmerdale side of the market has naturally come into focus.

“Sarah Sugden heads the betting after being placed at the heart of the danger, while John Sugden and Ray Walters are also strongly fancied as characters whose deaths would deliver shock without derailing long-term storylines.

“From a Coronation Street perspective, Becky Swain leads the market as a character closely tied to the current drama, while Billy Mayhew’s confirmed departure from the soap has also pushed him into contention, with the crossover offering a natural opportunity for a dramatic exit.

“Although established figures such as David Platt feature in the odds, events have historically been more likely to claim mid-tier or exit-linked characters rather than true soap icons.”

More Corriedale details

Earlier this week ITV revealed the cast list for the special crossover event. It came after a trailer revealed more drama just days before.

The promo teases a catastrophic car pile-up. Among those caught in the chaos are Corrie favourites Kit Green, Carla Connor, Asha Alahan, Shona Platt and James Bailey. Emmerdale characters Cain and Charity Dingle, Sarah and Robert Sugden, Jacob Gallagher and Joe Tate.

They join an already star-studded line-up featuring David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Aaron Dingle and Lisa Swain.

In the aftermath, Kit Green takes charge as a visibly shaken Carla tries to calm a distressed casualty. Shona and David lie injured roadside while Emmerdale’s Jacob Gallagher leaps into action. Meanwhile, Corrie’s Asha and the Dales’ Cain are tackling more casualties nearby.

Elsewhere, Kevin and Abi are desperately searching for Debbie. Plus, Robert’s cries for Aaron echo through the darkness.

Pregnant Charity and Shona appear together, with Shona screaming in agony. The clip has fans wondering if a baby swap is on the horizon.

Both are carrying children in dramatic circumstances. Shona’s baby in Corrie has a cancerous tumour and her life is at risk. Meanwhile, Charity is actually carrying her own baby, conceived with Ross Barton, when she’s supposed to be a surrogate for granddaughter Sarah. Charity is lying to everyone that the baby is Sarah and Jacob’s.

Some fans now believe a baby swap storyline is on the way and Charity and Shona will take home different tots!
