What is Graham's connection to Jodie? The burning question everyone now wants answers to

Forget Ray’s murder, what Emmerdale fans really want to know is what’s going on with Graham Foster and the girl he has tied up in the back of his van, Jodie?

Last night saw Graham race off after failing to end Ray and then he got back into his van and told Jodie they were on their way. So just what is their mysterious connection?

Graham Foster’s shock Emmerdale return

Graham was first seen with Jodie during Corriedale. He had her tied up in the back of his van, but during the crash drama she managed to escape.

She raced off into the woods and Graham wasn’t able to locate her. He then called whoever he was working for and told them the job was off, their contract was terminated and he had something else to do now.

During flashbacks this week we’ve seen what happened on the day of the crash when Graham first returned to Emmerdale village.

He had been presumed dead for six years, but came back when he heard Rhona was in trouble. He knew of Ray and Celia, knew April was involved and wanted to help.

Graham explained he had found out due to his current line of work – solving problems the police can’t. He had been hired by a very powerful man with links to Emmerdale which is how April’s name came up. He claimed when he discovered the true nature of the man’s business – drugs and human trafficking – he pulled out of the job.

But with Jodie still tied up in his van, was that a lie? Or does he have a different connection to her?

Graham leaves Emmerdale village with Jodie

After promising Rhona he would deal with Ray and he wouldn’t leave him alive, Graham grabbed him in the street and bundled him into the village hall. Here he began beating Ray ready to finish the job.

But they were interrupted when passing Joe Tate heard the commotion and went inside. Graham was forced to hide and then run to escape being seen. It meant leaving Ray alive.

Then Graham had a message from Rhona calling him off Ray anyway, so he turned to a figure covered in a blanket in the back of his van and said: “Right, let’s get on the road, Jodie.”

That then takes us right up to Corriedale.

Jodie in Coronation Street

Jodie turned out to be the sister of Corontion Street’s Shona Platt. Over in Corrie she has claimed Graham was her abusive ex-boyfriend who hurt her while she was pregnant causing her to lose the baby.

However we know that not to be true – Jodie had in fact gone to a domestic abuse survivors’ support group and was telling the story of one of the other women there pretending it had happened to her.

So what is Graham’s connection to Jodie then?

Fan theories on Jodie and Graham’s connection

Emmerdale fans are convinved he is actually her dad, with one saying: “I’m wondering if Graham from Emmerdale is the father of Shona and Jodie from Corrie!”

“OMG Graham is Shona and Jodie’s dad,” declared a second. A third added: “It’s gonna turn out that Shona and Jodie are Graham from Emmerdale’s daughters, isn’t it?”

But that begs the questions, why would he have tied her up in the back of a van? For some that fits with the abusive partner theory.

“I said about week ago Graham may have been an ex or partner of Jodie,” said one. “So Jodie‘s abusive ex is maybe Graham?” queried another.

However someone else pointed out: “Graham’s not like that. Unless he does it for a woman’s safety – as in they’re a danger to themselves, that sort of thing.”

So could it all tie in to who he was working for?

“Was Jodie and Graham working for Ray and Celia?” asked a fan. “I think Graham was in business with Celia, bringing new ‘recruits’ such as Jodie, in the van,” agreed another.

A brill twist would be if Graham turns out to have been Celia’s muscle, retrieving runaway slaves. Literally no one believes Celia and Ray ran the whole racket by themselves,” added a third.

Emmerdale are going to keep us guessing on this one for now as we focus on Graham returning to life in the Dales. But hopefully we’ll have answers on this sooner rather than later – or we might explode!
